Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Finding Forrester changed my life.

Hey. New board.

Indiana Jones movies come out, and archeology departments see a spike in new students. Jurassic Park came out, and the same thing happened with paleontology departments.

Please don't tell me what happened when Silence of the Lambs came out.

(Also, I learned to play roller hockey because of The Mighty Ducks. Still possibly the most fun I've ever had playing a *shudder* sport.)

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Increased application to FBI? I remember something like this happened when The X-Files became popular.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sales of fava beans and chianti, though, must have gone up.

I was (I thought) about 3/4 of the way through The Man Who Cried thinking... wow this is a good movie. I can't wait to talk it up on Buffistas... when it just kinda ended. Very good up to that abrupt and disappointing ending though.

cheerios

From my momma who I hadn't even hyped the movie to (yet)

Just got home from seeing "Lars and the Doll." Amazing film..........well worth the $7.50.

edit: I told Mom it was written by a friend of a Buffista and she replied that I have to go see it so we can talk about it because she has so much to say about it and that it was awesome in so many ways.

re-edit: Oh in case anyone hasn't caught on yet, the movie is actually called Lars and the Real Girl.

Constantine is going to be on in half an hour. I'm prepared for that fact that it totally pisses on everything the comic book stands for. On its own merits, ignoring its source, is it a good movie? I'm thinking of using it as my movie to watch while working out.
