A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I try not to pimp DH too much in here, but this conversation is reminding me way too much of his Comebacks review not to link to it.

OMG, Jess. Too funny. And he got to talk to McShane. I think that's worth a pimping pass.
B movies online:Wowie.
DH and I went out (out!) to see Elzizabeth: The Golden Age last night. It was fun, but not quite as much fun as I was hoping for. From the previews, I was expecting a complete crack-addled costume porntravaganza. And it did get there by the end, but not before waaaaaay too much Elizabeth throwing hissy fits over not being allowed to have sex with Clive Owen. Which, you know, I get, but it's not what I go to the movies to see.
DH and I went out (out!)
Yay!
Hey, I understand her motivations. I'm throwing a hissy fit over not being able to have sex with Clive Owen RIGHT NOW.
Not sure if it makes for good drama, though.
I'm right there with Robin.
My boss (a British history librarian in her 60s) told me yesterday she wanted to see Elizabeth this weekend, and I said I'd heard there were some historical inaccuracies, so if those bothered her she might want to be warned. She replied, "Oh, I just want to see CLIVE OWEN! In doublet and hose!"
