I finished reading that story not two week ago. He may Be Legend but I Am Disappointed.
Maybe you should watch The Omega Man.
Or the Vincent Price version.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Sweet, I'll add that to the Netflix queue
Heh, I think David was saying if you think the Will Smith version's going to be bad, but I'm not 100% sure.
I know neither Matheson nor Price liked the Price version (THE LAST MAN ON EARTH). And OMEGA MAN is 70's Chuck Heston Sci-Fi, so caveat renter.
Oh, did you ever read Michael Moorcock's Gloriana? I loved that.
A jerk in college poisoned me against Moorcock for years. This is probably a shame, and maybe I should give it a go.

Yeah I went and read the reviews of both and agree. All of them thus far seem to be pretty much crap. Roger Ebert trounced Omega Man
Okay, that may well have been worth posting twice, but I really didn't mean to do that.
I'm glad to see reports of James McAvoy as Scotty may have been greatly exaggerated. I love McAvoy but I just couldn't see him in the role.

Heh. I kind of love Chuck's early seventies Science Fiction movies. Particularly the cheesiness of The Omega Man where he is The Last Man in a sort of Playboy Advisor way, sipping wine out of his cut crystal goblets and playing chess with a mannequin and listening to classical music.
Then he gets a super sexy blacksploitation love mama and a motorcycle riding scientist to back his play. Oh yeah.
I adore Omega Man. Pretty much all of Charleton Heston's 70's sci fi stint.
