Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

I would totally set aside a whole shelf for Elizabethan fantasy.

Oh, did you ever read Michael Moorcock's Gloriana? I loved that.

move out and draw fire

I finally broke down and watched the trailer for "The Seeker" (mostly because it was embedded in Fone Bone's interview with McShane), and what I basically want to know is why they called it "The Seeker: The Dark is Rising?"

Could the screenwriters (I'm sure there were several) not come up with names for characters, so they decided to use names from Cooper's book? Because that seems to be about the only similarity.

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

I just read the IMDB plot synopsis of I Am Legend (Will Smith). I finished reading that story not two week ago. He may Be Legend but I Am Disappointed.

Maybe you should watch The Omega Man.

Or the Vincent Price version.

Sweet, I'll add that to the Netflix queue

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Heh, I think David was saying if you think the Will Smith version's going to be bad, but I'm not 100% sure.

I know neither Matheson nor Price liked the Price version (THE LAST MAN ON EARTH). And OMEGA MAN is 70's Chuck Heston Sci-Fi, so caveat renter.

A jerk in college poisoned me against Moorcock for years. This is probably a shame, and maybe I should give it a go.

Yeah I went and read the reviews of both and agree. All of them thus far seem to be pretty much crap. Roger Ebert trounced Omega Man
