Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

GUH.

I second juliana's GUH. And add a staring off into space in rapt contemplation.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Johnny wore ruffled tuxedo shirts with the arms ripped off and had a massive rockabilly pompadour.

CRY BABY!

Also, I second juliana's GUH.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Also, Anthony Stewart Head has unfortunately had his scenes cut. Boo.

Wait, all his scenes were cut from the movie? Aw, that sucks. Who did he play?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

are reuniting onstage in Sheila's memory and the lineup includes Z-Cars, The Kids, Critical Mass, Slyder, Tight Squeeze, Charley Pickett, The Cichlids, and will help us remember an important time in our history.

Slyder used to do double bills with The Kids. Slyder had more of a Tom Petty vibe. I have the Cichlids record - sort of a B-52s type band. Charlie Pickett & the Eggs were actually a nationally known cult band. Saw them several times.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

So, I've just finished Drving Lessons with Rupert Grint and Julie Walters (Mrs. Weasley). I really liked it. Rupert was just adorable and, it must be said, my DR crush is fading a bit and I might have to transfer my afftections.
