I knew nothing about Ironman, but I just saw a trailer for it on the tv. It looks motherflippin' awesome. Downey Jr. rules in it.
Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
The character's one of the few alcoholic superheroes, but they don't dwell on that in this movie. Still, there is an alcohol shot right there in the trailer.
He's in interesting character in that he's flip and brusque and not like Spidey or Supes or Bats or Wolvie.
Hell, his most obvious nick sounds like irony.
Downey Jr. rules in it.
He does. I find him incredibly entertaining and compelling in the trailer.
I'd muster a lot more enthusiasm for the movie if the writers of Civil War hadn't just turned Tony into a self-righteous fascist responsible for atrocities against some of his closest friends.
Just saw a teaser for the movie Across the Universe, is this the one where the studio wasn't happy with the director's progress and took it over and that pissed off the director who wanted her name taken off it?
It looks colorful and fun - you know - from the teaser.
I firmly believe (and this bolstered by only having read about it) that they'll explain he's a pod person or something, Matt.
Then again, DC ruined my Batgirl and I read those--and deleted them from my brain.
I hate the Across The Universe (that's the Evan Rachel Wood-Beatle thing, right?) trailer. Every time it comes on I worry that they think I'm its audience because of what movie ticket I bought.
Is it Evan Rachel Wood?
Mostly, I heard the music and saw color and dancing -- didn't recognize individual people.
(I've got the tv on in the living room but I'm not in the living room and can't really see it clearly.)
Of course, it must be the same thing -- I mean, how many different movies based around Beatles music are coming out now?
(I know that there is a re-mastered version of Help coming out -- but I think that's just on dvd.)
Yes, Across the Universe is the Julie Taymor movie starring Evan Rachel Wood with the Beatles music. The NYTimes had an article about it not long ago.
Yep, Across the Universe was taken away from the director (Julie Taymor) and given a studio edit, so who knows how bad the final film is going to be.
X-post with Dana!
