Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Punishingly Intricate

did anyone else know that Alan Tudyk is in it?!

Oh, yeah, I kept looking for him in the ads but they've been all Crowe/Bale all the time. But the local movie reviewer called out his performance as being a highlight of the movie (which he generally liked).

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I've been hearing/reading pretty solid 3-star reviews for the film this week; most of them say that it's a bit bloated in the middle, but has a knock-out ending.

Art Crawl!!!

Why is it that this supposed 5 minute clip of The Accidental Husband cuts off less than a minute in and right as it starts showing footage of JDM???

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

I watched it yesterday with no problem, sumi. have you tried youtube? maybe somebody ripped it and put it up there.

it looks like it's going to be a great role for JDM.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Mods & Francophiles Alert!

Who Are You, Polly Magoo? (1966, William Klein) will be showing on the Sundance Channel, Weds, 9/12.

This movie is only available in PAL format as an import and rarely airs. It's about the Most Mod Movie ever.

Klein also did the pop art influenced satire Mr. Freedom

Did we know Tony Head was in Sweeney Todd? Or did I miss the memo.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The movie version? Seriously? Christ, it just keeps getting better and better.

Ah, he's in the chorus.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The chorus has some solo bits, though -- quartets and quintets and the like. Provided the movie isn't changed too much from the show.
