Maybe he was still too angry by Neal's betrayal. Sometimes it takes a while for that kind of negative emotion to leave the driver's seat.
I think El being in danger is going to be the thing that brings Mozzie back--she's the one he's formed the biggest connection with, so that will be how they redeem him.
