Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

I'm pretty sure none of those shows had writers/producers saying that they were gayer than gay porn though, and Angel did, with Tim Minear. (IIRC)

They said it, and I'm not sure they were right. (OK, there was "that one time" but that was towards the end of the show and long after the "gayest ever" meme was established, and just a throwaway line anyway. Onscreen chemistry was never as strong as Starsky and Hutch. And Batman, well that was gay on a very different level. Didn't that series escalate "camp" to a whole new level that had never been reached before?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

just a throwaway line anyway

Or a confirmation that the writers had consciously been putting gay sub into the text all along...

Does it mean more if it is conscious? No "trust the tale, not the teller"?

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

We need more slash on Justified. I want Boyd back.

Oh my. Tonight is full of Raylan-isms.

Note to Royal Pains: It was just instrumental, and it was brief, but seriously people, no more Hallelujah.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

When Tom and I were rewatching season 1 Justified last month, Tom pointed out that, in his opinion, once we got deep in the Crowder arc, we lost a lot of the standalone backstory with the criminals of the week, which were always really awesome. He missed it. So he was displeased with the new Harlan arc of crazy hillbilly Shakespearean drug dealing family nemeses.

The mom is SO FUCKING SUPER CREEPY it makes me want to watch from the hall a lot.

I am not wild about the violence against the ladies in 2 for 2. A teenager (abused by a sexual predator) and a pregnant lady (the dude just wanted to sadistically cut a baby right out of her)- ugh, come on people. Aren't there a lot of guys we can be violent against? Break it up a little, please.

Also Ava and Boyd WHUT? Did not see that coming!. Aside from picking on the weak, in the first 2 eps (which we watched back to back) everything's awesome. The entire Marshal's office, Winona ("and I thought sleeping with a witness was stupid!") and GARY, who gave that dude a personality?

Man, I was loving on Aunt Helen though. If violence against the ladies does become a theme, I am hoping that it means it leads to a Aunt Helen/Mags showdown at the end.

Ooh, that would be awesome.

Edited to remove excessive use of the word "awesome."

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I finally saw the first two eps and am loving them. LOVE Margo Martindale as Mags--that actress is always so wonderful. Jeremy Davies seemd scarily skinny to me--kinda threw me out of the show a bit, even though I know that's just how he's built.

Can I also say that I could watch an entire series of Timothy Olyphant smiling a little and casting sidelong glances. Makes my little knees go weak, he does.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

What she said. Last scene between her & Loretta set me so on edge.

And if he happened to be wearing an undershirt (or no shirt would be okay too, I guess) at the time? My heart's flutterin' a bit at the mere thought.

have you seen those shoulders? Those are good shoulders to have. Hummina.
