Cable Drama: Still Waiting for the Cable Guy to Show Up with the Thread Name...
To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
Just let it play.
Figures someone already posted that link. So cute.
Can I geek just a little bit about the latest ep of Justified? A technical thing that made me gleeful I actually recognized and understood?
We just watched Justified tonight. I think I scared H, I effused so much about the scene where Boyd is released: the two men, silhouetted in shadow in the middle of that empty, white, hard-edged space, wide blue sky above it. The camera comes around slowly, a complete 180, timed to the lines the actors speak. They're in sun as the door rolls up behind them, and on the last beat of the dialog, as the last line is spoken, the POV cuts to overhead and that startling elongated block of light carves through the shadow, with them centered in the light. Just so effectively filmed.
Aside from everything else awesome about Justified (writing, filming, etc., etc.), how is Raylan so dreamy????
A while back someone, I think Glamcookie, asked me about *why* Justified was growing on me. I still can't explain it exactly, but it's just yummy.
It's just so rich -- every single character has interesting depth, every scene has multiple things happening. And of course the people speak much better than real people would -- if only real slimeballs had the kind of way with double entendre that these guys have... Is it still double entendre when they are talking about violence?
I was just rewatching the pilot while on the train and it makes a lot more sense now nfor example, I totally missed that it was Winona in the court house.
Beverly, I was geeking on that scene also. I rewound just to watch it again. Beautiful.
I really hope Raylan drops Ava. I also hope that Ava gets her priorities straight and moves to Spokane. Oh, and that Winona finds herself suddenly husband-less. Not that I'm invested in these characters or anything.
Bev, I noticed that scene as well. Absolutely beautiful!
I know it's a trade mark of Elmore Leonard to have you root for the bad guy, but even with a man that said "I'm dangerous. I wouldn't trust me" I found it happening again. When he was eating the fried chicken, I didn't think Raylan was going to do it but I was afraid the SWAT guys were going to get their shot. I suspect I will even eventually pull for Bo Crowder in some way.
This show is so multi layered with the filming, writing, and acting. I feel like there are a handful of top quality shows in production right now, and it's been a while since I felt that for more than one show (two at the most).
