"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I love that the angry black man is from the Mod Squad.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

::whimpers::

See?! SEE?!!

Seeing Rolly die was awful. Here's a person, and I can see all the decisions that got him to this point in his life, and all the situations that sprung from and influenced those decisions. He's a guy. He could be me. It's fucking sad.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Seriously, what other show clearly says "bad guy" for the bad guys, but makes you feel bad when they die?

That's what gets it for me. Their bad guys could be people I know or have known or are related to me.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Seeing Rolly die was awful.

So agreed. That was not the outcome I was hoping for. I was really hoping witprotec was going the be the result so he might be a recurring character (much like how I hope the bookie from last episode turns up again). I suspect he knew the knife wound was pretty bad, though, which is why he just said enough. Damn.

Also, I like how in most situations, Raylan is decidedly NOT a shoot first and ask questions later kind of guy, despite the fact that he seriously shoots to kill. He gives more than fair warning, and woe betides them that underestimate him.

edited for slight clarity

That's one of the first things that I loved. That his gun was holstered and he was explaining to them that if they took it to the point where he had to draw, he would shoot to kill. He tries to talk first.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I LOVES this show. Olyphant has Raylan's easy swagger down. He's the yummiest kind of alpha male--unshakable but relaxed. I love how Olyphant seemed to not be acting in Deadwood and he doesn't seem to be acting here, and yet the two characters are so very different.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I haven't even seen this show but I'll say this about Olyphant; he's got the same quality that Viggo can bring: white hot intensity, but banked. Whether he's playing a good guy or a bad guy he really burns on the screen.

He stood up to Ian McShane's typhoon of cocksuckery and did not flinch.

Yeah--so many great lines in each episode of this show. The writer part of my brain is very very happy.
