I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

So (now that I've seen it), how does the rest of the world read this relationship? I know I have the slash goggles, and those of you who don't are at least aware of the slash goggles, but my god. How else do you read this episode? Really really intense friendship with tears?

Also, I love Peter and Elizabeth's marriage. We can just slot Neal right in the middle there...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

NEKKID

ahem, I mean yes, I think most people see it the way you do. How could you not?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've read people on TWOP describe it as brotherly, but seriously, people.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yay, I'm glad you saw it, Dana!

I have no idea how anyone else sees it. I mean, it all makes perfect sense through the slash goggles. But since I've been looking at their relationship that way since the beginning, I don't have any problem fitting those particular pieces together.

I think up until this episode, I could have seen it read as buddy cop kinda bromance. But it seems like it would be really baffling to try to read this straight at this point. I suppose gay denial is pretty strong in the mainstream media perception, so I guess it could still look that way, if you were trying.

But boy howdy does it not ever look that way to me.

And I suspect that one way or the other it's going to need to be made explicit and then one group or the other is going to be very very confused.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I mean, Neal was CRYING over leaving Peter. He'd wanted kate for so long, he didn't know how not to, even though his heart was telling him to be with Peter. How could anyone not see that?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Sparkly hearts. I'm just saying. Sparkly hearts.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Sparkly hearts, indeed. Pink and purple sparkly hearts. Held by unicorns. And nekkid sculpting. Hello, competence kink.

Pffft. Gus and Shawn are brotherly. These two would be Doing It if Peter weren't married.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I mean, Neal was CRYING over leaving Peter. He'd wanted kate for so long, he didn't know how not to, even though his heart was telling him to be with Peter. How could anyone not see that?

Blindfolds and residing somewhere in deep space? Because I'm pretty sure you could see it from MARS.
