"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So, 1) how could Peter just go and see Kate and 2) why didn't he bring Neal with him? That's probably the only thing I can't really hand wave away.

Juliebird, I think the director is primarily responsible for the awkwardness in the Peter and Kate scene. Kate is a HORRIBLE actress first of all. But second, the audience was supposed to initially believe Peter is BAD, so Peter had to act ambiguous at the start. It didn't work.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I saw the Two-Live Crew Job again off my DVR. Damn, that's such a good episode!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm guessing Peter didn't bring Neal because Peter doesn't trust Kate. There's no way he'd be able to show Neal she's untrustworthy with him there, but what he did might give him enough ammo to convince loverboy.

Kate is absolutely appalling. I'm guessing there really is no payoff for her looking so much like Elizabeth, so it's just a real piece of lousy casting, in a show that's done pretty damned well so far.

Art Crawl!!!

That is really too bad. I wish that the casting folks had realized.

I think that Peter doesn't trust Kate. She may legitimately be in trouble, but she doesn't care about Neal.

side note: boy, did I see the slash potential in this ep.

They're still my OT3 #2, because Elizabeth is so motherly towards Neal, and keeps urging him and Peter together without necessarily being part of it herself, but it's a pretty strong contender.

boy, did I see the slash potential in this ep.

All sorts of jealous boyfriend vibes.
