Handsome brooding vampire guy has to swoop in all sensitive mouth and overhanging forehead. How 'bout leaving some scraps for the homely-looking fellows who don't turn evil when they get some?

Thrive to spite them

I don't think we were supposed to be shocked that Grace slept with that guy, that's how she deals with things emotionally.

One thing that struck me on the way to work is that Grace is a lot like Tommy on Rescue Me, which I haven't watched since the first season so bear with me. Tommy is a firefighter with a cop and a preist for brothers. Grace is a cop with a firefighter and a priest for brothers (and presumably more didn't she say she had 4 brothers and 1 living sister?), both drink too much, both are still dealing with the emotional aftermath of terrorist attacks. Both lost relatives in the attacks. Both see visions -- well Tommy sees Dead People and Grace sees an Angel.

It doesn't track exactly but she's a lot closer to being like Tommy than she is like any female character on tv.

askye, I agree. In fact, I was just thinking of that last night: they both are dealing with the two biggest terrorist attacks on US soil and how different is it in the middle of the country than in NYC?

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Huh. I don't watch Rescue Me, so I never realized the two shows were so similar.

sumi, thanks for the info on renewal.

Who plays Henry? He seems so familiar.

I know! He seems to play nebbishes a lot, but I can never remember his name.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Who plays Henry? He seems so familiar.

According to IMDB, the actor is Mark L. Taylor, and it looks like he is one of those actors who has been in just about everything.

I loved Saving Grace this week, but I haven't seen The Closer yet. I'm really interested to see how they are going to wrap up the season of The Closer. Last season's finale was so big; I'm wondering if they can top it.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah, I thought it sounded like "Rescue Me" with tits, askye. But I haven't seen "Grace" yet. It must be up against...someting I never miss."Countdown"...maybe?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I saw maybe 3 eps of "Grace" and I bailed. I think the "mysteries" are eh and while I like Holly Hunter, I don't like Grace. So I'm out.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I think that they need to spend more time on the crimes. They seem like filler to give Grace something to do between drinking too much and sleeping with inappropriate men.

Vortex - yes - either more crimes or more family. Or really- more Grace/Rhetta - they're v. cute together but less Grace drinking on her own, sleeping with whomever. . . etc.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I've got a bunch of Grace backed up on the Tivo. I might get to it this weekend.

(I don't know why I take so long to get to new shows. It's a thing. But I do try to get to them. Last weekend, including an emergency personal day on Friday, I made it though Mad Men, Damages, and everything past the pilot on The Kill Point.)

I'm so happy that Tom kept that wolfhound pup. You know Wyatt or Elvis would make an excellent name for a dog -- and Charlie - not a bad name for a baby.
