Art Crawl!!!

I missed it!

They'll repeat it? Or it will be On Demand, right?

(Sons of Anarchy season 2 premiere.)

Art Crawl!!!

Cool.

I swear I thought I had a season pass for the show!

I missed a few shows at the beginning of the "summer season" because I thought I had a pass. I have now become paranoid about my DVR setup.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

well when they do stupid stuff like change the name (Top Chef Las Vegas, I'm looking at you), your pass won't catch it. Theoretically Tivo suggestions should figure out that you want to see it since you have another Top Chef or two in your season passes, but I have found that Tivo suggestions are dropping the ball of late.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The only identical catch suggestions has made for me is catching Doctor Who on BBC America. But the problem is that it doesn't catch every episode of any show, just some. Yesterday it caught three in a row, which was very kind of it, but unexpected.

I seem to recall they were holding a contest for someone who could come up with a better matching algorithm than the one they currently have, so they at least are trying to improve. I don't have any problem with them--but I spend a lot of time perusing my upcoming recordings and the guide, so I haven't missed that much. But it does burn when I do.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I ended up just deleting season passes at the end of the season and restarting them from title search next season. I only remember to do this because I have you people.

Mad Men: That was such a tough scene with Peggy's mom. And Peggy's making the right call, and I know she thinks the roomie represents the kind of life she wants to have. But I would go nuts with a roomie like that and Peggy will too. I agree that they may be setting up for Joan & Peggy to room together. But I wish Joan a happier life than she has, and certainly than she will have if circumstances force that situation.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I don't think Joan and Peggy will room together - it's so obvious I can't imagine the show going there.

(I had a confused moment where I thought they had roomed together at some point in the series, and then I realized I was thinking of 3 Women. Oops!)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's awesome.

Going back to Sons of Anarchy, here's some good (and shocking) news:

FX's "Sons of Anarchy" came roaring back to record ratings Tuesday night.

The second season premiere hit a series high by a mile, growing 94% (!!!) in the adult demo compared to its first season premiere.

"Sons" was seen by 4.3 million viewers and earned a 2.8 demo rating.

That represents the largest season two premiere gain for any series in FX's history ("The Shield" returned to a 3% increase and "Nip/Tuck" had a 33% gain).

This is great news for FX, a network that's doggedly stuck to its quality shows brand even as its veteran dramas have inevitably sagged and newer efforts have underwhelmed. For those looking to get into "Sons," or who checked out its lackluster pilot and dismissed the rest, here's a recommendation: start with episode seven.
