I dunno... Greg sure seems to be on the edge of snapping. Especially since it seems as if he's not going to get the Chief Res job. And even if he does, he's going to have that knowledge that his superior doesn't think as much of his ability as he did his predecessor.
The one thing about him that I can't seem to get out of my mind was how he yanked the cord for the vacuum from the wall and when Joan admonished him about it, he shrugged it off and answered, "I'll just fix it."
Which in a way, seems to lead into what you're suggesting, Vortex.

Yes, it smacked of a conversation with my mother. You know that she'll be unhappy so you just ready yourself for whatever random shit that she's going to say to make you as unhappy as she is.
