Cable Drama: Still Waiting for the Cable Guy to Show Up with the Thread Name...

To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Finally caught up with the Rescue Me premiere, and agree that the show may have unjumped the shark. I'm mildly concerned they are going for 22 episodes instead of 13, because I fear they won't be able to keep it up for that long without a break. We shall see.

I think I'd blocked that out.

I totally cannot remember what the football's final fate was. Also, at the funeral and the home movies - was that Anthony Michael Hall? Whoever he was, WHO is he? I can't remember him at ALL (the character, I mean).

Always Anti-fascist!

Tommy's lawyer cousin, whose name I don't recall, but we saw a lot of him early in season 4 when Tommy was under suspicion for setting Sheila's house on fire(and, no, I'm not THAT big of a fangirl. I rewatched the previous season recently.) Frank, you may be right, but I hope they can...it'd be nice not to be embarrassed about liking that show. Not that guilty pleasures are so horrible...

Always Anti-fascist!

Another great ep, slightly marred by Sunjata's Truther bullpucky(the one thing I will never forgive those people for is making me feel, even for a nanosecond, that I have to defend people I wouldn't piss on to put out, if they caught on fire. I would ALMOST believe anything of the Bush admin, but I think this "almost" is too important to let pass.)So i'm not. I believe they exploited the situation shamelessly, but that's a different thing from blowing up the Towers yourself. At the beginning, I feel like we got a real sense of what a dick ex-Father Mickey was when he was drinking...but, because we haven't seen that side of him,it's easy to feel that he's above the Gavin fuckwit fray, when actually he's quite a master at it. He was probably a persuasive priest as well, once. But it really shocked me.

What the hell was up with Franco's comment to the guy I always get mixed up with the other guy at the end. I replayed it a bunch of times and I still couldn't figure it out.

Something like: "I thought this place looked familiar." I don't get it.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think there's another bar in the neighborhood with their woodsy decor. Or at least that's what I thought it meant.

Compassionately intolerant

I thought it meant that the one guy had said something like, "I've got a GREAT idea" when it came time to decorate...the other fellows agreed, thinking it was a unique idea. Then, it turns out his idea was just a memory of a competitor's idea.

It's like how I have two identical dresses in my closet because I thought "Oooh. That's so pretty," when buying the second because I liked, and had forgotten, the first so much.

That character and I seem to share thimble-brainery.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It's like how I have two identical dresses in my closet because I thought "Oooh. That's so pretty," when buying the second because I liked, and had forgotten, the first so much.

Hah. I just did that a month ago - bought one that was so cute and it wasn't until I went to hang it up that I realize I have an almost identical one that I never actually wear. So back to the store it went, for once.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Aldis Hodge was on Castle this week--I had to go back and watch The Nigerian Job, and The Second David Job, and then If magazine posted up this: Aldis Hodge presents The Hand Jobs. I miss the show. :(.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

In the course of discussing the current structure for television threads, it was suggested to modify the slugs (and sometimes headers) for TV bucket threads to more adequately represent what is discussed in each one. The idea behind this revision is to make it clearer when looking at the list of thread titles which shows are discussed where.

This (non-inclusive) listing would not be to restrict what can be discussed in a given thread, but rather to give an idea as to which 3-5 shows are likely to be dominant in that thread at that time. They would be updated every 4 months or so to reflect the changing network/cable seasons.

The decision as to which shows belong in the current slug will be based on bullshit consensus within each thread. When the call goes out (like now!), please discuss in-thread and then post any update or change in Bureaucracy so that the stompies can update the slug.

The proposed slug for Cable Drama is: Thread for the discussion of original cable drama, including, but not limited to ?, ?, ?. [NAFDA]
Please revise and fill in relevant titles for the upcoming months and post the update in Bureaucracy.

The header is TBD, so I propose moving the current slug to be the header:
Thread for the discussion of original cable drama--but not scifi/fantasy (that's Boxed Set!) or pay-to-play (that's Premium Cable!). Psychics, detectives, surgeons, and firemen welcome. [NAFDA]
Please post your version in Bureaucracy.

Given the Leverage love, maybe replace detectives with con men?
