Ok, I'm still rewatching. Betty's utter lack of concern about what she just did is so very striking! She evened the score! That has to have something to do with her letting Don come home. I wonder if she'll ever tell him.

To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
I wonder if she'll ever tell him.
Even if she does, it'll have the element of "Well, we didn't know if the world was about to end," about it, so it just might be forgivable.
However, if she does tell Don, it's going to invite in him a whole host of questions with respect to this baby—if it even is his. I mean, we know it is (at least, we think we know it's his, from the comfort shag at her father's house) but he has no clue what she's been up to while he's been cavorting with Felliniesque beauties named Joy and revisiting his past with Anna.
And I think Pete has picked his side. Interesting.
Oh... and because I'm still all SHOW! We haven't even talked about how easily Don was able to diffuse things with Pete. And Don being Don, you're just not sure if it was just a line or if he really meant it. But end result is, that Duck was always a poor substitute for Don when it came to Pete and approval. It was Don's approval he always wanted and it came at just the right time.
And poor little shitweasel Pete—has his one moment of approbation from his hero and then has it all brought down around his ears by Peggy's confession.
I actually felt a little sorry for Pete with this episode. He has been growing somewhat, at least when it comes to work. I thought Don was telling Pete the truth. Pete is sensitive enough to tone he would have realized Don was blowing smoke. Before, Pete would have blustered, made unfounded statements and thrown threats around. Now, he asks and is gracious about accepting a compliment. But, to have Peggy lay that bombshell on him? Holy Armegeddon, Mad Man.
bombs away!
HMOG! Peggy told Pete he was a daddy! Guess the Father was right that she really needed confession.
I wonder, did she tell him because he professed his love, or because of the bomb/need to confess?
Do you think that Pete's going to get a little more accepting of adoption now :)

My knee-jerk reaction is "Oh hell no." Although he might let Trudy do it, but he'll always wonder "what if?" He'll never look at a child in his own home, not of his blood and not try to superimpose the image of his own child.

Heh. I think he's going to badger Peggy to try and find out where the baby is and then tell Trudy that "sure I'll adopt, I've got just the kid!"
Trudy won't want a toddler though. She wants an infant. She wants to play the game from the very beginning.
