"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

and young Terrence Stamp... le sigh

I'm afraid my experience with young Terrence Stamp is solely as Billy Budd, which means less le sigh and more zzzzzzzz thanks to Melville's ability to bring the Platonic ideal of boredom forth into the real world.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

That's not the point! If you haven't read the book, you don't know! Principle!

Vortex, I agree! :-)

That's why I love you people. Hard to find people who give a damn about books consistently and/or know them.

“Not dead yet!”

And you know what's funny (in a semi-tragic sort of way)? I don't recall anyone on the amc boards even mentioning the defacing of the book.

I love this place.

It was funny reading the Jezebel blog because they found the Eurotrash nomads to be Freaky and Threatening

Oh, yeah, there is something freaky about them! I don't believe that Joy is really the "viscount"'s daughter and it totally felt like a grift was in the works to me!

I thought him ripping out the page was funny. Mostly because Joy annoyed me.

Oh, man. Did I suck at that.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I got $12,000 and then lost it all in the Final Jeopardy question. :(

Hah! I didn't make or lose quite that much (I was at $8000+ and bet 1/2 that) but that's what happened to me. And if I'd gone with my first instinct I'd have totally won!

“Not dead yet!”

$25,800

I'm not sure whether to be pleased or concerned.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I lost it all in Final Jeopardy. Oh, well. Did all of the avatars do the cabbage patch and raise the roof when they got questions right or just the black one?
