Cable Drama: Still Waiting for the Cable Guy to Show Up with the Thread Name...
To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
Andrea and I have finished Leverage.
It almost seemed that they could have split the show into two shows at the end.
Alias Nick and Nora
- Nate and Sophie keep getting involved in rich society capers while trying to stay on the straight and narrow. Weekly phrase, to be said by either of them: "I thought we were going to retire," followed by the other, "Well, just this one..." They may run afoul of insurance wonks and occasional appearances by Mark Sheppard.
Leverage, Inc. (AKA Leverage:OT3)
- Parker, Nate, and Elliot travel wherever they are needed to help out those people whom the Banks affected. Sometimes it's a little thing, and other times it might be big, but it's always action-packed. Each week they pick from a rotating cadre of shady characters who owe them one. or are trying to help because they may be crooks, but they are humans.
I am so enjoying Suits right now. I like how they ratchet up the tension and pull their asses out of the fire with considerable regularity.
Right now I'm at the point where Litt was happy because they were only handing over the Sanders files, but unknown to him Mike has convinced them to hand over everything, thereby showing Litt embezzled funds.
It's like ping pong with fancy dresses.
I don't remember seeing The Musketeers discussed anywhere, so I thought I'd try here. I just finally started watching eps from my DVR and it's rather better than I expected. I mostly just thought I'd try it out for the pretty, but it's not half bad (predictable at times, but not bad). Anybody else been sucked in?
I've been watching the episodes on BBCA with my local geek girl group. The show is pretty fun. I think the Captain of the Musketeers and Richelieu have some slash potential, and, as in most other productions, I find Porthos and Aramis more interesting than Athos's angst or D'Artagnan's whatever. Although this D'Artagnan is very pretty. One of the people I watch it with studied French history in college, and we have a bit of fun playing "plot point: really a thing or not".
Huh, I started watching The Musketeers but it hasn't been showing up on my DVR for a bit. I guess I should investigate. Because I was enjoying it.
Co-signed - Porthos & Aramis are by far more fun/interesting/charismatic than Athos & D'Artagnan. Though I really like Athos & D'Artangan, I just don't crave screen time for them as much.
Okay, so what's the most outrageous plot point so far that we'd be surprised to learn was a real thing?
Well, the Court of Miracles, mentioned a couple of episodes ago, was a real thing. [link]
And one of the king's sisters married the Duke of Savoy, as mentioned in another episode. She became regent of Savoy after her husband dined with the Marshal of France, took ill, and died (I'm not saying it was poison, but the Duke made alliances with Spain and his widow, not so much). [link]
And, according to my French history studying friend, poisoning "holy" relics was a thing that happened.
Loved the daughter on the porch with her BB gun, ready to shoot a bad guy in the eye so that grandpa can finish him off.
She has some gun safety issues, but was otherwise flawless.
I get why she wasn't the one to unload an entire cartridge between his eyes while dancing, but I do wish she could have arrested Lester. Or at least .... well, it became a lot less about him and her. It was her and everyone. And she was right, spleenlessly.
For a while I wanted the whole place to blow up, but the cool folks on the show were very cool. It just got easy to forget sometimes. I cannot
believe
how much of a shitheel Lester was. The whole "I"m in over my head!! That's not what I meant!!!!!" vibe not only evaporated, he fucked it without lube.
Anyone watching Satisfaction? It's a weird show. No heroes, I'm assuming. One week behind.

I thought that one had a "truth is stranger than fiction" ring to it.

I decided not to when I saw the ad that compared it to American Beauty. I am watching the other one, though -- the druggie doctor?
I have no idea what it has in common with AB other than midlife crisis. I mean, I find it bearable, and that's a big difference.
Not sure why I didn't pick up Rush. It does look like the perfect balance for Royal Pains, which I still watch, mostly with my jaw dropped.
