I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

Cable Drama: Still Waiting for the Cable Guy to Show Up with the Thread Name...

To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])

Not javachik

So there isn't a general tv thread? (Why is that again?)

I've gone nuts for Parenthood. I watched Season 1 on DVD from the library, and just looked up Jason Katims on IMDB. He's also from Friday Night Lights and My So-Called Life! Also, full eps here: [link]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There is no general TV thread because no one has worked out how to make one work in a way that makes it useful for enough people.

Is Parenthood on cable?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

No, NBC.

The only place we really have a gap is network drama, right?

Always Anti-fascist!

I suppose. I liked Parenthood at first...great cast, but then I thought there was too much "hugging and learning" in it.

Yeah, I end up squeeing about The Good Wife in Natter.

... could we talk about The Last Resort in Boxed Set? I mean, it's got a rogue US submarine and all. Sounds kind of genre-ey.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Not that I want too, but we could revisit having a vote for a bucket thread of network drama, if there is enough interest. it is possible there weren't any good network dramas at the time of our experiment. (also, I love parenthood. and Mae Whitman.)

My nay vote wasn't because there was nothing to talk about, it was because I didn't see a good way to talk about anything.

Is Last Resort sci fi or fantasy?

Can I ask how you see the concept of a network drama thread as any different from any of the other threads that group together a type of show?

Is Last Resort sci fi or fantasy?

Maybe if you consider it alternate reality? It doesn't really seem so to me, but I don't know where they plan on taking the concept.

Less so than Revolution, in any event. I was sort of cheating: so far as I can tell, it doesn't violate the laws of physics or biology, just politics. But if it's good, I won't have a place to talk about it here except for Natter.
