Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I don't know what it is about her, but she is not a pleasant dancer to watch. Maybe it's all the mugging? I am so ready for her to go home.

I think you've got it right. I like Lauren as long as I can pretend it's not her.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Lauren (that's the one with Neil) bugged the fuck out of me with her comments that she pretends to be Asian. WTF was that? I know they did a Wade routine, but she needs to GO. That was some offensive shit right there and I'm surprised she didn't know it.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Yeah, the whole chinese alter ego was a serious WTF moment. I don't know how someone can be that clueless.

The fact that they did a Wade routine and made me hate it convinced me that the both of them are really just shit dancers. I kept thinking how much Jesus and Sara could've brought to that routine. And then I shed a little tear over the travesty that was the last results show. It could've been a really fun dance with dancers with a little bit of subtlety and ability to really interpret a piece and inhabit the character of the dance. I marginally liked Neil better in the dance than Lauren, but he didn't manage to bring any real malice or danger to the part he was dancing. I should've been getting Sweet from OMWF and he was giving me the Lucky Charms leprechaun. And I don't know what Lauren was giving other than a whole lot of gasface.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

So, on Top Chef, I should have known when they started interviewing someone I couldn't remember anything about, that she was on her way out. Meh.

didn't you just love the shot of her kneeling on top of the stove whisking something over the flame?

Lauren (that's the one with Neil) bugged the fuck out of me with her comments that she pretends to be Asian. WTF was that?

I KNOW. I now hate her I don't care how she dances. But, you know, I hate contemporary. It just seems like a lot of flailing, running, and being thrown across the stage.

Art Crawl!!!

I loved the Quickfire because the top 3 were people that I like.

And I have to say that Hung is showing himself to be incapable of accepting criticism. If you don't like something he's made it's because you're "confused" or didn't understand his "concept".

I was worried that they were going to send Dale home but glad that they sent Camille since I had no idea who she was.

Also, they had the cheese-specialist on their team -- why didn't they do a cheese course? I mean, does a cheese course HAVE to be just cheese on a plate? Can't it be items cooked with cheese as the star ingredient?

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, and previous to TC I saw a documentary on Chicago PBS about two teams of Synchronized Swimmers that was both cool and kind of silly.

Art Crawl!!!

One of said synchronized swimmers did a routine based on Schindler's List.

Back to TC: I love how when the QF judge was introduced to CJ the first thing he said was something about how tall he is and CJ responded, "Thank you for noticing." (More or less.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

didn't you just love the shot of her kneeling on top of the stove whisking something over the flame?

Oh yeah, that was great.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Now this is interesting. From Ted's Top Chef Blog:

That’s because, as so many of you noted on the boards in recent days, in the last episode of TC, we at the Judges Table mistakenly repeated the myth that lobster is high in cholesterol. It is not. In fact, lobster meat has slightly LESS cholesterol than a skinless chicken breast.

All apologies to America’s hardworking lobstermen (and lobsterwomen), and for any confusion we may have caused those seeking to reduce cholesterol in their diet. (Note: Lobster dipped in butter IS high in cholesterol, natch).

Also, hee!

Now, the Chaine des Rotisseurs were interesting people with good palates, and it was a pleasure to munch with them. But, as a veteran of a certain Bravo show that occasionally dabbles in matters of fashion, I have to pose a question about their ceremonial drag: Should people wear sashes, medals, chains and ribbons to their dinner functions? If you’re Jacques Chirac (or Jacques Pêpin): yes. If you’re a 35-year-old Miami attorney? Robo-dork!
