"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I really enjoyed The Gourmet Next Door, but it seems to have disappeared from the network entirely. I wonder if they plan on doing any more episodes.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

And they've got toothiness way, WAY overcovered with Giada.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The toothy blonde seems to be able to cook *and* handle the camera.

Giada did not like her. I kind of imagine her as someone who has to push back really hard on people wanting her to go perkier, if only to keep some daylight between her and RR. So I found her reaction quite fascinating - be interesting to see if it holds up that way.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Giada did not like her.

Giada doesn't get on well with RR either, if their Iron Chef battle is any evidence. Maybe she has the same allergy to perkiness that I do.

Art Crawl!!!

I liked the Gourmet Next Door too - but I bet that they didn't pick up the show - given that the audience voting for her over the blonde was such a shock to the producers.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I've really stopped watching FN except for shows that Alton Brown is involved in.

OK, OK, I'll watch Dinner: Impossible if the TiVo recommends it for me. I enjoy it even more so since Robert Irvine's exposure as a Big Fat Liar, to tell the truth.

Me, too. Oh, and Duff Goldman, as long as he's at Charm City Cakes--I love the staff as much, if not more, than Duff! Mary Alice rules that place.

I've um, stopped watching Good Eats. The show about how to be extra-paranoid about food safety pretty much turned me off AB as a solo act..

I find myself watching Throwdown in addition to any AB-related shows, but that may be because Flay loses a lot, and I like watching him lose. Also, I like the snarky comments his assistants throw at him.

Heh, I usually just roll my eyes. He so crazy!!!

But I like the production still, a lot.
