The Texas Diva needs to be off my tv immediately.
What was with that floor to head-level establishing shot. It looks like they're trying to establish her as a "this season's villain" right out of the gate. All that was missing was some vampy femme-fatale music (maybe the Touch of Evil theme? probably too classy for her). I hope she crashes and burns before she gets a chance to fulfill her role.
She's been on the Apprentice and a couple of other reality shows too, I think. And generally crashes and burns.
How does that work? I mean, how many reality shows can a person be on??
But yeah, so far so good, with this group.
OK, NFNS has been watched.
Texas Diva bores me already. Yawn. She's not even an interesting villain.
Not sure who I like yet, to be honest. This is definitely the best LOOKING group they've had so far, so that's nice. (Seems like the Food Network finally twigged to the fact that NFNS is always going to be more popular than any show that comes out of it, so they may as well stock up on the eye candy.)

Ask Rob & Ambah.

I'd noticed that just from the previews they were showing in the week leading up to the premier -- that it was mostly a bunch of TV-pretty people. I was hoping some of them could cook.
It is still a little too early to tell who might be worth rooting for. The toothy blonde seems to be able to cook *and* handle the camera. A few of the others also seem to be able to cook and handle being on camera, but need to figure out their POV better, if they want to win. Should be an interesting season.
Glad Cory is gone. Hope the plastic Texas diva goes next.

Snerk. Yeah some people will do
anything
to have a "career" in show business.

Would you think that Guy Fieri might be the exception to the rule? He's moved into full out FN whoredom doing multiple shows, being trotted out for specials, etc.

He's been more successful than the other winners, but his shows still don't bring in the ratings that NFNS does.

But they've already got a Rachel Ray. I think the two of them on the same network might cause a Perkiness Overload Error and crash the entire system.
I really enjoyed The Gourmet Next Door, but it seems to have disappeared from the network entirely. I wonder if they plan on doing any more episodes.
And they've got toothiness way, WAY overcovered with Giada.

Giada did
not
like her. I kind of imagine her as someone who has to push back really hard on people wanting her to go perkier, if only to keep some daylight between her and RR. So I found her reaction quite fascinating - be interesting to see if it holds up that way.
Giada did not like her.
Giada doesn't get on well with RR either, if their Iron Chef battle is any evidence. Maybe she has the same allergy to perkiness that I do.
