Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Who are you partnering with?
A co-worker of mine who is a marathon runner.
Very cool!!!
I have wanted to apply forever. I figure I have little chance of getting picked but at least I will have tried.
And it's all thanks to ND, who provided us with a VCR to make the DVD-VHS transfer of our application video (if you can believe it, they only accept submissions on VHS).
Who says you have little chance! Bah on them. K-Bug thinks it is pretty cool you applied too!
if you can believe it, they only accept submissions on VHS
CBS? Oh yeah, I believe it.
Giggling at the "Joseph Smith is My Homeboy" t-shirt on SYTYCD. Too bad that guy wasn't much of a dancer.
OK, question for y'all--I want to plan some SYTYCD viewing parties. First I'm going to just have people over for a "you know you want to get into this show" party--show some good stuff from the past few seasons (I'm a bit limited on that--you tube things, and then I've only got the last couple eps of last season on my TiVO--I WISH I still had Season 2 on TiVO!) and I'll show a bit of the auditions.
But for planning regular viewing parties--what days of the week is it airing this year? Show/results show? I honestly don't even remember how this works...
right now they're playing it wednesdays and thursdays. i don't know if they'll keep it that way when we finally get to the results portion of the process.
Don't they understand my need to plan my social life around their show??? I thought that was what they WANTED from me!!
If that's so, now to decide if it would be better to have people over on Wednesday to watch the show, or have them over Thursday, and put off watching the show and wait until we can watch it with the results. That means we couldn't vote. OTOH, I never voted until the finals last year.
No TC talk?
I started groaning with the Quickfire winners/losers, but on second thought, butchering is kind of a bullshit challenge -- it's like testing my CEO on her filing skills or something -- that's a task you hire an expert for, while you do the higher-level stuff.
