I am curious why none of the judges are blogging this episode. Ted's says "gone fishing" aka no blog this week, and no sign of Bourdain.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
AI: Glad I spoiled myself last night, or I would have been really pissed with my TiVo for cutting off just as Seacrest said the winner is David...
TC: I would have loved for Spike or Lisa to go home, but I have to say I'm happy that they chose Dale, despite the fact that I think he is a better cook. That was not the first time he failed at being a "chef" in the true sense of the word.
I wanted Lisa to go. Both of her dishes were bad. However, Dale did make a lot of bad calls. When they didn't have the right rice, they should have reevaluated, or at least had a backup plan.
I think that Dale is a better chef, and can do well under the right circumstances.
Lesson: never be executive chef -- they ALWAYS get the boot. or, if you are exec chef, make sure your dish is TIGHT. Tre got kicked off last year over bread pudding!
Be the sous chef.
Although, didn't Miguel who was the sous chef get booted in Season one?
BTW, one of the diners at Antonia, Richard and Stephanie's restaurant said that as part of the gastro-pub concept they served a chosen beer with each course. (Somebody had remarked on Padma seeming extra slurry this week.)

I wish they'd gone into details on that.
t /beer geek
Wait, that never closes. Neb'mind.
Somebody had remarked on Padma seeming extra slurry this week.
OMG, DH and I were *cracking up* at how drunk she looked. It was hilarious.
I wish they'd gone into details on that
me too!
mmmm beer!
I thought that, too, at judges' table! I don't usually notice it, but last night she was surprisingly effusive.
Padma seeming extra slurry this week
And guess how I misread that at first!
Another board reminded me that it was Nikki who made Team Awesome re-rinse the shellfish, and thank goodness for that!
(WTF is wrong with me? I typed "Lisa" at first. I think I still just can't get my head around such a sucky Lisa.)
