Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

It's interesting to think that she didn't even know - hadn't even seen her jury performance or reaction to it from China - if she had won or not the whole time she was in Micronesia.

Oh! This is great info to know, it colors how I see Amanda's last TC performance so very much. Yeah, I thought she had a good chance at winning until she got all doed-eyed and inarticulate at TC. Too bad, but I liked Parvati, too (and also had her name in the office pool, so I won $$!)

Did anyone else watch the David Breashears' documentary Storm over Everest on Frontline last night? I'm so glad he made it. Jon Krakauer's book Into Thin Air was so well-written, it made you think that his account was What Really Happened Up There (the 1996 Everest summit season that led to many deaths). I was obsessed with the story and read nearly all if not all the books written by others who were there that year, and it was clear that Krakauer was narrowly focused on his experience and on trashing a couple of people in particular, namely Sandy Hill and Anatoli Boukreev. Breashears didn't even mention Krakauer, which I found very interesting.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Well, there you go. WTF is Whitney doing with her mouth in every single shot? I'm glad on principle, but meh in reality.

Fantasia on Idol with fire enginge red hair!! Hells yeah. That's what I'm talkin' about.

They should totally do an all star AI. I know most all star seasons suck, but c'mon. Kelly vs. Tasia. Melinda vs. Tamyra. Clay/Ruben the sequel. Hell, I'd even watch Daughtry vs. D.Cook and I hate both those fools immensely. Maybe they could take a page out of Survivor and do a Fans v. Favorites.

ION, Syesha's haircut is fierce. I wish I liked her more, I really do.

ETA: Wow, y'all, they really, really hate Syesha. Why would they put her and her piddly little crowds right after D'Archie and his stadiums full of screaming tweens? It's so sad.

ETA: Ok, so I am going to say some nice things about D.Cook. I know! Thing one: His brother is cute as a button! I totally would have preferred to have him on the show. (Well, that wasn't nice about him, but whatever). Thing Two: His look has gotten sooooo much better over the course of the show. Now, he's still an unfortunate looking but adequately styled young man, but early on in the season, damn, he brought the fug in a major way. (Well, that got a little not nice at the end there, but honest the intention was to be kind) Thing the Third: He came off as quite charming in his journey home and I normally never find him less than smug.

There. Now back to the hating.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Not surprising results, but poor D'Archie! Looked like he was going to pass out, woobie-boy.

Totally unsurprising results. And D'Archie did look terrified. I'm so glad that he's not going to actually win. The D.Cook pimping tonight was out of control. Let's bring the brother up (I'm assuming that was the cancer brother). Because he really needs those sympathy votes. Blegh.
