"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

"I didn't feel like straining it"?

that might have killed him.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Damn - stuck with Spike another week. And now Ryan's come out of the backfield as a primo asshole.

I think you're right about who's going home Vortex.

I was so confused for awhile there. I just realized now that y'all are talking about TC and not AI.

I was all, "Spike who?" The only scenario I could come up with was Spike Lee on Idol though I couldn't figure out a reason why he'd be there.

Because books.

TC: That surprised me. I would have bet on either of the others over Ryan.

And I think Markwise isn't usually that sloppy -- I think he was a little thrown by the format.

Nikki always seems to take the easy way out, to me. If sausage is the main feature of your dish, you should probably *make* it, not buy it.

Also, Gayle Sayers! He looks so old. And Tom in a beret was super adorable.

I do wonder exactly how you strain chowder, though. It's supposed to have some chunks in it. Not sure where the gritty came from in a corn chowder though, so perhaps best not to contemplate.

Looks like Ryan was a bit too primo an asshole.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

the go lesbians comment.

Yeah. Lea nearly leaped through the TV at the guy. He's a total prick.

Looks like Ryan was a bit too primo an asshole.

I think the judges might have forgiven Nikki and Markwise's faults just to get rid of the guy. They all looked annoyed with him

Because books.

For the first time (I think?) the bottom three all made different mistakes, too.

Ryan's food wasn't really oriented to the challenge. (And it was hard to eat, although it seemed like a lot of the guests liked it.)

Markwise's methods, and presentation, were sloppy. (I don't think they hated his flavors, despite Tom's remarks about the soup.)

Nikki relied too heavily on prepackaged food. (And running out of food before the judges came around, of course.)

It was interesting to see which one they decided was the worst crime.

My thought exactly. He was so damn unctuous with the judges, I'm surprised he wasn't dripping oil. Combine that with his refusal to actually do the challenge, and I think it was a toxic combination.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, they could see through him.

I was happy for Dale - even though Dale is an asshat. (Could you possibly have apologized without taking that next, totally wrong-headed step?)

Maybe Nikki will be out next week (I hope!)

I'm rooting for Stephanie to go all the way. She's like the less grumpy female Harold.

Punishingly Intricate

And now Ryan's come out of the backfield as a primo asshole.

No he was an asshole from the very first episode when he talked about getting two people fired from his family's restaurant because he was such an amazing cook at 11. ass.

We call Spike "Hat" and laws he's got to go!!!

The Hobbit was a total mess this week but I'm glad he didn't get cut.

I'm rooting for Stephanie to go all the way. She's like the less grumpy female Harold

Yes!! Love her so far.
