Punishingly Intricate

Many people sounded like they were from Minnesota--which doesn't make sense, but that's the closest match I can think of to what I was hearing.

It's the lilting, the ending phrases on an up-note thing that mid-westerners do. Anya has that a little bit but to me she really sounds like she's hearing-impaired.

I don't remember Christian ever breaking down like that. After Jillian was auf'd, I could see him start to crack, and my heart just melted for him. I'd been softened earlier in the ep by his unexpected lack of self-confidence, and when he teared up at that point, and then melted when he won, I thought, "Oh, what a sweet kid, and so talented!" Then he got his "fierceness" back at the end and I just laughed and rolled my eyes, instead of getting annoyed like I was by the end of the pre-Bryant Park episodes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Tim Gunn tells more about how Victorya sucks:

“She was sourpuss, a crabby apple as I keep saying, throughout almost all the show, other than Days 1, 2 and 3. She became this sour pill. Rich Bye, one of the executive producers, and I had two off camera interventions with her. I said to her, ‘You know what makes me beside myself is the fact that there are thousands of designers who would love to be in your place. What’s the matter with you?’

“She said, ‘I never dreamed the experience of being on the show would be like this.’ We said, ‘What do you mean?’ ‘I never dreamed we’d only have a day for challenges, that we wouldn’t have any breaks.’ ‘But you said you saw the show.’ She said, ‘I assumed it was cheated.’ I said, ‘Then you only have your own delusions to blame.’ She was really angry and bitter.

“On one occasion – they edited this out, I knew they would – we were at Mood [Fabrics], and I’m handing out money. They each have $250 dollars. She collects the envelopes from all the designers and hands them back to me. She said, ‘I want you to count it.’ I just stared at her. ‘You want me to do what?’

“She wanted me to count the money in each envelope. I looked to the producer on site with us, and I said, ‘I’m not doing this, am I?’ and he said, ‘The rules say that if a designer asks for the money to be counted, we have to count it.’ I said, ‘Fine,’ and asked why she wanted it counted. And she had pulled out this sheaf of papers – she had the rules with her – and she said, ‘I don’t believe that we all have the same amount of money.’ Why would we do that? If someone didn’t have the right amount, wouldn’t they come to me? So I counted the money.

“But that’s what it was like dealing with her. She actually said about Jack’s departure that we had engineered him leaving because he wasn’t a pretty face anymore. I just said to her, ‘I fundamentally don’t understand why you can’t understand that he is seriously ill. Furthermore, it’s a MRSA [infection]. We are all at risk.’ But she said we were forcing him out and that shouldn’t happen and we should have a hearing or something.”

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Damn. And just like that, I love Cirie again. I like Tracy more and more too.

Damn, again. I never lost my Tim love, but this sure amps it up a notch.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

PR: Well, short of having Chris, I guess I'm okay with a Christian win. He was very cute all wobbly lip and trembly on the runway. I really really wish we could have seen Chris' stuff walk down that big giant runway, though. Not that it would have won with Posh as the judge, because she's right that Christian's stuff is right up her alley. But still.

Totally cute to see the RL PR/TC crossover. Also, Tyson Beckford always looks amazing. It's kind of baffling how amazing he always looks. Anyway, loved all the Bravo cameos.

I did like Rami's weaving and Jillian's knitwear. Both surprised me, which is a good thing for PR Fashion Week shows.

I do not know how Christian's crazy neck/hat model saw to make it down the runway. But I suppose they have experience in just walking a damn straight line, no matter what craziness the designer has put them in. I thought it was cute how Christian's model was all proud of him. He must have been like a puppy on set; everyone felt proprietary about him.

ANTM: I seem to have stopped watching this. But Anya's accent is totally a toned-down version of pidgin. Seriously. It's much more severe in general.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Jesse, I was just coming here to post that link to the interview with Tim Gunn. Victorya is even more of a bitch that we thought. But Tim is funny about it:

But I have to tell you something funny. There’s one thing I feel bad about, and it’s [springs from] the evil side of me. Victorya was out with the Levi’s challenge, and the next challenge was the women wrestlers. I wanted so badly for her to have to do that challenge. Would that not have been the ultimate in revenge? And I’m about 60 percent confident that she would have walked off and refused to do it, and that would have been a ‘PR’ first.

Speaking of Bravo reality-show contestants who don't get the point, what the hell is up with Ben??? He doesn't want to be a salesman for clothes? Then what the fuck are you doing being a model, for god's sake?

Man, I liked him personally before, but between being a jerk last week and not wanting to do his frickin' job this week, and also not getting over that stiffness on the runway, I hope to high heaven that he's gone next Thursday. What a big loser.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

You are so right about Ben! WTF? After all this time is he just getting tired of being there and is sabotaging himself?

Because books.

In the very beginning, I was a Perry fangirl (which ended several weeks ago, because dude, could you be anymore of an asshat?), and this week sort of clinched my dislike of Ben, too. Seriously, step it up.

Also, isn't it maybe a tiny bit ... I don't know, mean of him to say he wants to do the seduction scene with Ronnie when he *knows* Ronnie crushes on him?

I think Holly and Shannon both did fabulously this week, and I want all four of those gorgeous dresses. Not so much with Holly's hat, though.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

AI: My poor Danny is gone. Too sad! But I knew it would be him. This show lives to break my heart. Now I have weeks and weeks of bar band wannabes and over the hill "rockers" to look forward to. Bleagh. I wish Kady and Kristy had left, but I'm ok with Asia going. Kristy will be leaving soon. I'd trade Amanda or Syesha for Alexandrea any day. It's all about David A., Jason, and Brooke from Top 12.

MMaSM: I'm so over Ben, too. He has a stank attitude. I'm totally digging on Holly FTW.
