To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Anybody want to know who the guest judge will be? it's cracking me up.

I know! I think it's an inspired choice, though.

Art Crawl!!!

Nevermind: TC starts on the 12th - so clearly the PR finale is the 5th.

(TC premiere change announced on The Futon Critic.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am excited about the guest judge! My coworker thinks I'm a crackhead.

You know what starts next week? ANTM Cycle Freaking 10. Party at my house, bitches!

Did you notice on the clip show how they had a surprising (to me) number of clips from Cycle 1, but Adrianne's face never appeared on camera, and no one said her name, as far as I could tell?

Yeah. What is the deal with that anyway? I never saw Cycle 1.

After the fact, Adrianne has said that she never got the promised contract, prizes, whatever, so had a huge falling out with Tyra. She never appears when they show the winners.

I definitely recommend checking out Cycle 1 -- it's got some good times.

Art Crawl!!!

What Tim said about Christian:

Christian wins! His look was inspired by a dramatic 17th Century Spanish portrait by Bartolome Esteban Murillo. Christian brilliantly translated the militaristic costume in the portrait into womenswear. Was the outcome a little costume-y? Well, yes, in a way, but it was also dramatic and editorial. And most important from a design standpoint were the silhouette and proportions, which were sublime. His slim, dark jodhpurs offered the perfect counterpoint to the voluminous, billowing shirt in white organza. Over the shirt was a high-collared shrunken vest, and the look was topped with a fedora. Lisa looked ready for a stroll with her petit chien along the Avenue Foch. And Christian, you’re ready for an emblazoned tiara! Bryant Park, here you come!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I do tend to love Christian's looks, but there's a fine line between "doing the same thing over and over again" and "having a design point of view" and I'm not sure he's on the right side of it. Are his skinny pants & puffy sleeves really all that different than Rami's incessant drapery?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

good point, I think. But, he tends to do something different with the rest of the look. I am tired of that shrunken jacket/vest thing that's so popular.

The other problem I have with Christian is that's what he keeps doing is what's popular now. Shouldn't the Next Great Designer be making what's going to be popular next year? (Not that I think any of them are necessarily doing that.)

Jessica, sing it sister.

I totally agree. I don't like Rami, but the grief they give him needs to be spread around.
