Art Crawl!!!

What Tim said about Christian:

Christian wins! His look was inspired by a dramatic 17th Century Spanish portrait by Bartolome Esteban Murillo. Christian brilliantly translated the militaristic costume in the portrait into womenswear. Was the outcome a little costume-y? Well, yes, in a way, but it was also dramatic and editorial. And most important from a design standpoint were the silhouette and proportions, which were sublime. His slim, dark jodhpurs offered the perfect counterpoint to the voluminous, billowing shirt in white organza. Over the shirt was a high-collared shrunken vest, and the look was topped with a fedora. Lisa looked ready for a stroll with her petit chien along the Avenue Foch. And Christian, you’re ready for an emblazoned tiara! Bryant Park, here you come!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I do tend to love Christian's looks, but there's a fine line between "doing the same thing over and over again" and "having a design point of view" and I'm not sure he's on the right side of it. Are his skinny pants & puffy sleeves really all that different than Rami's incessant drapery?

good point, I think. But, he tends to do something different with the rest of the look. I am tired of that shrunken jacket/vest thing that's so popular.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The other problem I have with Christian is that's what he keeps doing is what's popular now. Shouldn't the Next Great Designer be making what's going to be popular next year? (Not that I think any of them are necessarily doing that.)

I totally agree. I don't like Rami, but the grief they give him needs to be spread around.

SO excited about ANTM! Though I'm really hoping it's better than last cycle, which was just lame.

I definitely recommend checking out Cycle 1 -- it's got some good times.

Cycle one is SO my favorite--with Elyse, and Adrienne, and Camille?? AWESOMECAKES. Though Cycle 2 with Shandi and Yoanna was good too.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

The last cycle of ANTM was the worst ever IMHO. I didn't even make it all the way to the end. But S1 really is a thing of beauty! Elyse is an expert shit talker.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

The thing about Christian is, he always gives a complete look. Three pieces or more, sometimes, and all fitted and completed. Whereas, others seem to barely finish one or two. Rami created that dress in the same time that Christian finished his whole outfit!

kat, I've been watching it, but I won't see tonight's episode until tomorrow sometime. (Who is this Lil Mama person?) Shane Sparks and JC manage to give intelligent criticism, but I'm not convinced she really belongs out there.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh my god. Perry is SUCH a manipulative bastard.
