Yes, Brenda - I was picturing the top of the dress and forgot it was knee length. Still - a much more interesting dress than Miss Pinch-faced's dress.
I think that they had a good point about the color, though. Not very prom-y.
Really? The last couple of years, I've seen a few of K-Bug's friends pick that color and she wore that last year...

ha! Clearly I, like the judges, have no idea what teenagers actually wear.
I agreed with the judges that Rami's dress was too old for a teenager but I didn't think it was a 35-year old lady at lunch dress! WTF? Who wears a dress like that to lunch? Maybe for cocktails.
The girl did look very grown up and elegent in it though.
I'm going prom dress shopping with two 17 year old's this weekend, so I had that added interest watching this episode
Fun! I want a fashion report!
I agree that Rami's color was off-- slightly sallow. A more limey green might have worked. Also, I liked Victorya's dress-- I think a h.s. student might find the stones tacky, but it was exactly the kind of ironic version of tacky that Kors/Nina would think is "prom-like."
When I saw Sweet Pea's dress, I thought she would lose. I guess the tailoring is harder than it looks, but it kind of swallowed her model's legs.

I want booze. Those shops are so tedious. Usually a side room off a bridal store. BLECH.
I love Tim's take. A few choice bits:
Frankly, the decision to toss [winner] this win eluded me. In my view, the electric blue textile said “superhero” not prom. Furthermore, the jewel emblazoned panel on the front of the halter made the dress look more appropriate for a hostess at a Vegas cocktail lounge than a teenager attending a suburban prom.
It’s essential that the designers look around the workroom and assess how their design measures up to everyone else’s (but without harboring the delusions of Christian).

THANK YOU, Tim!!! That was my take exactly.
Hee.
I figure that Ricky's time is nigh.
I figure that Ricky's time is nigh.
I've thought it was nigh from about the first episode but he keeps holding on. Kevin's done consistently far better work than Ricky has.
As we finished watching last night I asked my 16 y.o. if she would wear Victorya's dress and she said "not in a million years!" I asked if any of her friends would and she said "as a joke". Kevin's dress came across to me as too casual for prom, but it wasn't as awful as Christian's was.
