I've only seen 2 episodes of PR:Canada.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
man! then you better white font.
ProjectRunway Canada - episode 2 I thought the losing dress wasn't that bad, I thought Megan's was worse, and I don't understand how someone with such poor sewing skills could be on one of these shows. They had that problem in S1 of PR, but I thought they'd closed the loop on that. I wonder if the judges will hold the decision by the woman with immunity against her in the future, because she was way too obvious about not caring.
Episode 3 I hate Bratz dolls. The show wasn't as smooth on the editing about who was going to go, anytime someone starts thinking they are safe and getting a lot of air time saying that, it's definitely a bad sign for them. The losing outfit was boring. The one woman, Michel, I think, was docked points for the slit being too high and therefore too sexy but the winning outfit looked super sexy as well.
PRC - Actually - when the judges really loved that dress by Lucian that I thought was a trainwreck - I figured that I'd not be able to get what they were looking for.
But I really enjoyed the challenge in episode two although when they introduced the "twist" - I thought - they did this in PR Classic, didn't they? I kind of loved how so many of the outfits showed their lineage as umbrellas but that the one buy who did the slick mini - had his model carry the umbrella frame as a reference. I figure that both Luther and Megan are elimination fodder and it will be her time soon. (Unless the non-sewing thing is more a matter of "haven't sewn in a while" rather than "don't know how to sew at all.")
And I really love Iman. She is so severe.
I thought Chris's dress this time looked very similar to the dress he made for the first challenge, and I thought he would run into the "too costumey" problem in the future, which is what happened here. I liked him personally, though. The color/fabric for his team's work was really, really indefensible.
Christian doesn't bug me as much as he did at the beginning, but in this ep he said, (paraphrasing): "I named our team 'Star', because we're hot...like celebrities!" Good thing you clarified there, hon. Otherwise I would have confused your team name with the hottest objects in the universe.
Iman is so totally severe. Have either of you gotten to the ep where she cuts down one of the judges? Damn. I replayed her comment like 4 times because I couldn't believe it.
le nubian, I don't think I've gotten to that, can you whitefont what she said and who it was?
I'm really mainlining PR Canada I'm watching Episode 6 judging and I just got to where Iman goes after MG for using "Guth" as a trashy look and telling her it looked Goth lite. Which is true. YAY Iman for standing up for Goth.
One more thing about the episode I can't believe Megan made it through AGAIN! I swear she's like Vincent, sticking around longer than she has the right to.
askye, you should be at the ep soon (or already saw it). I think it might be in ep 6 where Iman goes after the male judge and takes him to task for having no taste! It was so blunt and surprising. He liked an outfit that Iman did not like at all.
