Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

you all really need to check out Project Runway Canada (it is on youtube).

It gives me my PR fix and it has Iman as host. Iman rocks.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Does anyone else watch Beauty and the Geek? I love that show! Last night, I especially loved Jasmine LARPing and the fact that Sam's friends were none too cool.

Thrive to spite them

Did anyone watch London Ink on TLC?

I recorded it and I'm watching it and so far I like it better than Miami Ink, there's more about the actual tattooing and less drama. Although who knows. Also I find Ami really really annoying and there's no one on London Ink I find super annoying so that helps.

Compassionately intolerant

I just finished the first season of Inked and was looking for another similar series. Maybe I'll try London Ink.

I was surprised by the lack of Thomas (or explanation of this integral character disappearing in the show info or on wikipedia) in season 2 of Inked, which caused me to lose interest.

And speaking of losing interest, I think DWTS lost me with Helio's win last night. I was transfixed by last season, but this season seemed so much more about the cheese than the 'triumph of the spirit'.

Despite the repeated claims...which I suppose is natural...the quality of the dancing did not seem 'better than ever.'

Must shift reality show allegiance.

ProjRun: My coworker's sister works with Ricky! Not physically, I guess, since she's in CA, I think, and he's in NY, but for the same place.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

OMG. Ricky has his model sewing for him. Not good.

Sweet Pea's shirt? OMG. That is the worst thing I think I've seen made on PR. Carmen's . . . what is that? Wow. This menswear challenge is a killer.

The models are very pretty, though.

I thought back then they didn't really do the super-young supermodel thing. If that is her age, now I'm a bit more skeeved by the fact she was still in her teens when she met her now-husband.

Kimora was discovered by Lagerfeld when she was like 13. She was born in 1975. Sadly, the age difference is the least of the things that was wrong with the Kimora-Russel Simmons union. I'll never forget the first time I saw their house on Cribs (and I think they hold the record for most appearances on MTV Cribs, which says a whoooole lot). It puts the gawd in gaudy.

This menswear challenge is a killer.

No sleeveless dresses in menswear. Well, not for the Today Show.

Oh, also, my other coworker tried to get me to think of a particular designer by saying, "The really gay one." Um.

(She meant Jack, turns out.)

Hah! Mmmmm, Jack.

Buh-bye, Carmen. Don't let the door hit you on the booty on the way out. Menswear is not your thing. Seemed to me like designing was not your thing.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

HMOG, how funny was it when Heidi practically spit out the name "David Beckham" So much disdain, like she was saying "sewer water" or "shit storm"

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I accidentally watched the beginning of the show again at 11, and it was hiliarious how red-faced Tim Gunn got when they went to see Tiki!
