ProjRun: My coworker's sister works with Ricky! Not physically, I guess, since she's in CA, I think, and he's in NY, but for the same place.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
OMG. Ricky has his model sewing for him. Not good.
Sweet Pea's shirt? OMG. That is the worst thing I think I've seen made on PR. Carmen's . . . what is that? Wow. This menswear challenge is a killer.
The models are very pretty, though.
I thought back then they didn't really do the super-young supermodel thing. If that is her age, now I'm a bit more skeeved by the fact she was still in her teens when she met her now-husband.
Kimora was discovered by Lagerfeld when she was like 13. She was born in 1975. Sadly, the age difference is the least of the things that was wrong with the Kimora-Russel Simmons union. I'll never forget the first time I saw their house on Cribs (and I think they hold the record for most appearances on MTV Cribs, which says a whoooole lot). It puts the gawd in gaudy.

No sleeveless dresses in menswear. Well, not for the Today Show.
Oh, also, my other coworker tried to get me to think of a particular designer by saying, "The really gay one." Um.
(She meant Jack, turns out.)
"The really gay one." Um.
Hah! Mmmmm, Jack.
Buh-bye, Carmen. Don't let the door hit you on the booty on the way out. Menswear is not your thing. Seemed to me like designing was not your thing.
HMOG, how funny was it when Heidi practically spit out the name "David Beckham" So much disdain, like she was saying "sewer water" or "shit storm"

yeah, I wanted to like her, but I just . . didn't
I accidentally watched the beginning of the show again at 11, and it was hiliarious how red-faced Tim Gunn got when they went to see Tiki!
I knew Carmen was in trouble when Tiki's wife referenced a "Member's Own" jacket when looking at her design. She just couldn't get away from the '80s.
Ooh, Eric Ripert is on eof the judges in the TC holiday special!
And were you guys surprised by Elisa's shyness with the models?
Yeah, that was...unexpected.
I thought she and [Broadway guy] did a really nice job, from the runway anyway. But it's pretty clear that Tiki's "doesn't have to be a suit" wasn't entirely on the mark. The more casual looks didn't even get a mention (not counting Carmen's disaster).
Last night, I especially loved Jasmine LARPing and the fact that Sam's friends were none too cool.
Yes, I really hope Jasmine and Dave win. She really grew on me. I hate that they are doing the "America votes" thing though. The thing I like about this show is that they all seem to really want to change and grow and eliminations are often based on that, rather than being simply strategic or a popularity contest.

You know, Seal would look probably look awesome in that outfit, but I loved her being all "over my dead body" about it.

Yeah, otherwise I think Kit would have won. I like the fact that there were clear differences between the designers, and a number of truly bad pieces to choose from. I'm not sorry to see Carmen go at all.
