Also irrationally pleased about the JC Penney accessory wall.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I don't love the backstage- bits.
Happy with the first runway. Mostly liked the clothes and totes agree with the winner. Not mad about the Auf either, although I actually kinda liked that dress.
PR: The model mirror thing is nice -- much better than the model competition thing they tacked on for a few seasons. And I don't mind the backstage bits! But that stuff always fascinates me.
Aaron always seemed to be in so far over his head. And I what I like about his personal style is what makes his designs problematic -- he dresses completely uniquely, without committing to one particular gender, and it works for him. But his designs don't commit, either, and because they're never a mix of elements (like glasses, hair, slip-dress, shoes, for instance), it just reads as confused and sort of limp.
Woohoo, I found some illegal postings of GBBO on you tube! One was only quarter size but the most recent one (bread week!) is normal.
I don't mind the new Mary, but am not so fond of the new Mel and Sue
SYTYCD: The finale just started, and I'm sure it will be great, but that opening number (uh, sponsored by Macy's) is the cheesiest thing they have ever done on this show.

Sandy is not as annoying as I thought she'd be, but Noel needs to stop sounding stoned.
I'm glad that Lex won. I really hated Kiki, and the other girl was kind of forgettable. Koine was a good dancer, but I like a winner with swag, you know?
Oh, I thought Taylor was beautiful -- both she and Koine really impressed me.
I would have much rather Logan made it to the final four than Kiki, yeah.
It's so good to have Mia back -- that group number was really powerful.
I don't understand the attuide of designers not speaking up about what happened with Claire. I'm not sure if it Michael and Margarita know or thonk they know about the pants so they just think it about Claire copying the previous winning look and asking for help or something else.
I'm really surprised no one brought up the extent of Claire helping Shawn but I guess that is moot. Use your words people!
I don't always watch the interactions with the designers, but Margarita was talking about how Claire had a measuring tape in the bathroom, which I guess was implying that she was working on designs in the apartment? I remember that there was one guy who had pattern books under his bed in the apartment and would lock himself in the bathroom with the shower running to look at them.
