SYTYCD: The finale just started, and I'm sure it will be great, but that opening number (uh, sponsored by Macy's) is the cheesiest thing they have ever done on this show.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I don't mind the new Mary, but am not so fond of the new Mel and Sue
Sandy is not as annoying as I thought she'd be, but Noel needs to stop sounding stoned.
I'm glad that Lex won. I really hated Kiki, and the other girl was kind of forgettable. Koine was a good dancer, but I like a winner with swag, you know?
Oh, I thought Taylor was beautiful -- both she and Koine really impressed me.
I would have much rather Logan made it to the final four than Kiki, yeah.
It's so good to have Mia back -- that group number was really powerful.
I don't understand the attuide of designers not speaking up about what happened with Claire. I'm not sure if it Michael and Margarita know or thonk they know about the pants so they just think it about Claire copying the previous winning look and asking for help or something else.
I'm really surprised no one brought up the extent of Claire helping Shawn but I guess that is moot. Use your words people!
I don't always watch the interactions with the designers, but Margarita was talking about how Claire had a measuring tape in the bathroom, which I guess was implying that she was working on designs in the apartment? I remember that there was one guy who had pattern books under his bed in the apartment and would lock himself in the bathroom with the shower running to look at them.
I am watching the current great British bake off when I can find illegally you tubes of it and I looooove it. I mean, I miss Mel and Sue, but I don't mind the new judge or the lady presenter, though I dislike the guy kind of. But the contestants are fab as usual.
I will admit I never have watched, but I literally, as someone who sometimes makes patterns for a living, could understand how you can make the pattern without a reference- whether it is your previous patterns or a book. Pattern making and designing are two different skills, and every good pattern maker I know has to reference things. You can't just draw a pattern! I get that they mostly use draping, while I tend to draft using measurements, and that I am looking for custom fit and they are fitting models, but still...
They aren't allowed reference materials or maybe it's outside reference materials.
I don't understand why Michael didn't just go to production to say something or why he was being so cryptic about it. Or why margarita wouldn't say something.
Leaving that aside I don't know why the designers didn't complain about Claire's extensive help do Shawn way earlier. It was unfair but I guess pointing out semi cheating is considered more unfair?
Actually I think the producers should have said something but generally they seem to be hands off.
That is not what I thought would happen on PR.
