Oh, thanks! It has been a long time, although I stil haven't finished watching the last season. Sigh. Well, bump that up in my queue...
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Anyone watching Top Model?
Is this where Survivor is discussed?
What the heck, last week's episode? Srsly, why didn't they vote off Sandra? I'm really sorry the person who was voted off is gone, because he was one of my favorites.
Ozzie continues to be the best contestant ever. I would watch a show that just had him fishing and doing stuff around the camp.
I cannot believe Sandra survived that. I'm starting to actively dislike her but it's tempered with a bit of awe, especially if she keeps this up.
Has anyone else been watching The Blue Planet on PBS? it's fascinating ... especially what's really lurking in the depths of the ocean.

Is this Blue Planet or Blue Planet II?
um ... I think it's the first one, but it just started showing up on PBS, so I'm not sure.
Holy shit what the FUCK just happened on Survivor.
And since I think not a lot of us are still watching, it was this: a gay man just outed a trans man at Tribal to demonstrate how "deceptive" he (the trans man) could be.
To their credit, the immediate, instant response from everyone else was pretty much straight up horror, but god damn. It was painful watching the outed guy's stone face. He was far more gracious than the asshole deserved.
Brenda, I just saw an article about it (haven't watched survivor since the first season) but I was heartened by how the rest of the folks seemed to react, at least?
That's the only thing that made it tolerable. Probst too - as much of a dudebro as he usually is, he's really good in a crisis. Stayed mostly out of it except to step up to point out when the guy's explanations were BS, and to make sure he wasn't minimizing.
