Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

True true.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

SYTYCD is coming back, but in a juniors edition.... [link]

FOX has renewed the Emmy Award-winning SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (SYTYCD) for a 13th season that will feature a younger generation of dancers. This season, dancers between the ages of 8-13, who are skilled in various dance styles, such as contemporary, tap, hip-hop, ballroom, animation or breaking, will be paired up with All-Stars to compete for the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. Premiering Monday, May 30 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, the new season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: THE NEXT GENERATION will feature returning host Cat Deeley and returning judges Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo.

I'm weirded out that they will still dance with All Stars. I certainly hope that makes the choreo move even further away from the boring love story?????

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Huh. That could be really good or it could be a total trainwreck.

8-year-olds competing against 13-year-olds seems problematic.

Yeah, that...as it is, half the time the dancers seem like they'd be better in a few years with more seasoning. Ugh.

That's true. But MasterChef Junior and Project Runway Junior are both pretty good, maybe they can do whatever works for those with SYTYCD?

information libertarian

It sounds like they are trying to capitalize on the popularity of Dance Moms, maybe? I dunno. I do know there is no way in hell I would let either of my children (9 and 12) be on that show, even if they were good enough dancers.

Oh, you think? I fundamentally do not get Dance Moms.

Ugh. A world of no. This sounds like a rip off of Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition which we've already had, sooooo. Yeah, no. I mean, in all likelihood, I will probably watch it anyway because I'll watch almost anything dance related, but I will miss real SYTYCD something fierce and weep for all of the talented dancers who won't be getting their shot on this show now.

If Maddie or any of the other Dance Moms kids show up on this show, I will go HAM.

Thrive to spite them

I discovered I had much stronger feelings about certain American Idol contestants than I thought I did.

Those AI cuts were brutal and incomprehensible. So many non-singing teens got through. Why? I am over here weeping for Jessica Cabral and Collette Lusher. JLo and Harry love them some 15 year olds. I can't.
