Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I know it didn't work out for her in the end, but I kind of appreciated the portrayal of the woman having the panic attack on Face Off. "Are you OK?" "No." and it taking her some time to work through, but working through it. And in the end, the issue was her concept, not having lost worktime or anything.
I agree with all that. Her partner impressed me, too. Before this episode I only liked him for his hair.
Also, I love how pretty much whenever anyone has to go home they talk about what they are going to do next with what they've learned from being in the competition or what they're going to work on.
Good job, Face Off producers! On both counts, right? They must be prompted on those exit interviews.
Gotta figure, yeah.
I finally started watching Under the Gunn, and I really like it! It could use more Tim Gunn, but couldn't everything? I don't think I really get how the competition will work, but the mentor's picking designers for their teams has been riveting so far.
And it reminded me how much I like Mondo's clothes, so I'm getting myself this dress [link] for my birthday. Whee!
I am digging Face Off this season. The casting is pretty good.
anyone watching Opposite Worlds?
Is that the thing where one group lives in primitive conditions while the other group lives in a high tech paradise and they compete Survivor style? I just saw a commercial that finally made me understand how it was even supposed to be working. If I stumbled across it while flipping channels, I'd probably watch, but I don't even know what channel it's on or when it's supposed to start.
I've seen the ads on SyFy but I haven't paid enough attention to understand how it works. Not really intrigued by it.
I really like this week's Face Off challenge. We got some subpar makeups out of it, but the good ones were super creepy and the idea of "make the creature that casts this shadow" is great. I love that Corinne's decision to forget the mold and do a great paint job worked out so well for her.
