Because books.

Wow, they have winners competing! That should be interesting. I'm going to miss Joanna Coles, though.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, she was pretty awesome.

Supermarket Superstar: The crab pie should go to Whole Foods, no?

The full-sized one, you mean? Because I could see the minis at Trader Joe's. Don't think they can say that in front of the A&P buyer, though.

Since I've been watching this show, I've been noticing a lot of products that people came on and said "there's nothing like this in the stores" about, I do see products like them at my grocery store. Not sure what to make of that.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Amy,

Something is up with Ken. His behavior (it seems to me) is reminiscent of someone who has been abused. He has been homeless a number of times, but I don't think that's it. He has extreme personal space issues and I bet he has serious anxiety issues (if not PTSD).

I think he should never have been cast on the show and I'm angry that the producers cast him, Sandro, and unicorn man for our entertainment. I think all three needed to be medicated and do their work outside of a PR pressure cooker.

See, he came off to me as simply a diva, but I wasn't pay a lot of attention. I did think the last outburst at Alexander and Braden was way off the charts, though, and what Tim said about anger management would be at a first step.

The thing that struck me about Ken was the two sides -- either tightly, strictly controlled, or completely out of control and screaming. Not a lot of balance there.

I've been skipping Supermarket Superstar, and here's the really bizarre reason -- it starts on the half hour, but it's an hour-long show, which is somehow just not right. Sometimes my brain is confusing.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

When he talked to his mother she asked if "the other side" had come out. I do think there's more than just a wild temper going on there.

That's what bugged about the latest situation. There was no need to show that - it didn't impact anything other than living arrangements. It's one thing if you're getting new insight or the situation affects the outcome of the competition. But it was just prurient "remember how cray cray this dude is?"

Well that's a good catch. I hadn't remembered that.

Exactly. It's so uncomfortable to watch. I can't remember another season where we've so often seen PAs and talent wranglers, either.

I feel like it's a result of moving to Lifetime, but I don't know if that's actually true.

Maybe a combination of moving to Lifetime and going to 90 minutes (which I still don't like)

I figured out how to watch Battle of the Sous Chefs, hooray! It's weird seeing these all disconnected from the TC:M episodes, but I can mostly remember what happened.
