No toddler could be worse than some of the adults I've seen.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Toddlers do tend to categorize based on sample sizes of 1, and are not super-clear on causality or tact, and so it's not unheard of for a three year-old to state emphatically that "people with brown skin _____" (like apples, do not like peanut butter, play the piano, are allergic to milk, whatever) but I'm not sure that actually counts as racism unless you don't outgrow it.
BB is dealing with racism! Mostly by Aeryn, but I'm glad they are putting some of this shit on the air.
I don't know. It kind of felt to me like CBS chose the laziest most minimal way possible to respond to all the criticism they justifiably were getting. They laid it all on Aaryn, without making it clear it was much broader than that.
I did enjoy the scary clown comparisons though.
Absolutely -- it was the least they could do. But I literally thought they might not address it at all. But I guess if everyone hates Aaryn now, they needed to explain that somehow, and her being a garbage person was it.
I didn't realize it was Beardy saying that maybe Hitler had some good ideas.
Julie Chen talks to TMZ: [link] First, I heart Julie Chen. Second, does no one realize that the dude next to her could cancel the whole thing and fire them all????
I'm not a BB watcher. Does anyone in the house have any idea about the outside reactions? Cause until someone calls them on it, nothing is going to change. Even if someone in the house is offended, to stay in the game I can see that person not making waves.
at least 2 of them have been fired, from what I read.
But do they KNOW that they have been fired from their outside jobs?
probably not yet. they will as soon as they get evicted.
My roommate texted me--apparently there's a second season of Breaking pointe coming in a couple weeks?? I'm crossing my fingers there's more dance drama and less personal drama.
