I just watched this morning and it felt very "filler episode" to me.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Good to know. My DVR can no longer pick up the new cable feed so I can't record.
I have the opera next week too, so I'll have to go online for those. It is so annoying that FOX won't post the shows online the next day like almost everyone else does.
So once my notes and musings hit 6 pages plus, I thought to myself, "What have you done?" and realized that was a little bit excessive even for me and if I really had that much to say, I should just start blogging the show again. Which I do not plan to do as I don't have the time but rather than post 6 plus pages of notes and musings here and clog up the next 10 posts, I threw all that up on my blog here and you are all welcome to peruse if you'd like. I found the episode overwhelming what with squeezing all of Vegas Week into two hours and the lack of Miss Debbie Allen was almost inexcusable. That said, the talent level this year seems quite high and it's looking like we may get more than just 7 contemporary dancers and a baby in both our boys and girls top 10s this year, so there's that. But all in all, I don't think you missed much if you didn't see it.
The Voice: It's Michelle or bust for me. Really disappointing end to what started out as a promising season.
Thank goodness for kat p recaps! I missed a bunch, and felt like I missed more, but no. It was impossible to keep track of anyone amidst the bullshit.
On The Voice, I wonder if the country kids will split the vote, or if country is just too big, and even then, I'm not sure who would win. I would have said the little blond girl, but the bros are pretty charming.
I think the blond girl, but I am hoping for a Michelle upset.
Hey, when does BB start?
Early this year! End of June sometime?
It is not a good idea to take lots of kids who, no matter how talented, are probably not accustomed to partnering and then set a piece on them with lots of partnering and then insist that they work on said piece into the wee hours of the night and then perform it in a high stakes audition the next morning powered by nothing but Coke and desperation.
THANK YOU, KAT P! That struck me as extremely stupid and OF COURSE someone fell.
And then they had to show her dropping eight zillion times because they want me to suffer.
Vegas Week has enough action, they don't need to gin up drama by working these kids to the point of fatigue. And it also follows an unfortunate pattern of this show being careless with their dancers' health which dates way back to like S2 when Alison, Natalie and Donyelle were all walking wounded by the time they reached top 5. Bah. I don't like it.
And yeah, Jesse, the episode was long but packed with mostly filler.
The Voice: While I'd like to see a country vote split that let's Michelle slide in for the win, I just don't see it. The Swon Brothers have been coming on strong, but I still think the smart money is on Danielle for the win. Blake's going have another teen country queen to go along with Cassadee.

Yeah, it totally made me think that they have not learned anything about not injuring the dancers through overwork. Alex Wong, man, how is that not a wake up call?
Oh, I hadn't realized they had eliminated 2 people on The Voice last night. Now I really hope Michelle wins, because 1) I'm so tired of the Oklahoma refrain and 2) I really don't want Blake to win yet again, as neither of his winners were distinctive at all.
