I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

-t, that's why I watch on Tivo delay, I can fast forward through the garbage like watching the designers get ready or talking shit about the other designers during meals.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I do that, too! It just bugs me that there's that much bloat. Although, to be fair, it does make it a good show to have on when I'm doing something that will keep me from paying attention - I know I can just make sure I see the runways and not be concerned about missing anything else.

Because books.

I'm missing Michael Kors already. Zac Posen is sweet, but too sweet.

I do want the team challenges to be more ... teamy. A cohesive collection, for example, not just eight separate looks. Something where they'll have to work together creatively more, and not just encourage or support each other.

The one who went home had that over-confident edit from the first moment, so it wasn't much of a surprise, either. I won't miss her. There are a few people who impressed me, though, but I'd have to look up their names. I hate the beginning of the season when you don't really know anyone yet.

There's just too many to keep track of at this point. Once a few more are gone and I've seen a few more designs I'm sure I'll have favorites.

Art Crawl!!!

I have no idea who anybody is yet. I did enjoy it more than I thought. Now, are the teams as they stand going to be permanent or will they be changing week to week?

Thrive to spite them

YAY RuPaul's Drag Race is back.

Boo there only seems to be one commercial - a PSA about safe sex with Avenue Puppets. "Do you want to come up and see my glass figurine collection?" "You mean have sex?" "Bingo!"

Pretty soon I'll have the whole thing memorized.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Finally caught up with Face Off. I love that show so much. It's wild with the one winner, though. But I can't say I'd argue with the choices.

Right? He seems like a nice guy, too.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, and reasonably modest, just happy in his work. Which is good, I have to say. And making the editorial decision to scrap when it wasn't working was such a good decision that people often don't make.

I don't remember that. I was pleased that the makeup that was supposed to have animatronic eyes still worked well without them, but that was someone else. What struck me about the winning makeup was something the judges pointed out, that the design could have gone hackneyed witch very easily but the execution made it beautiful and demonic, as intended.
