Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I don't like that they cast a really irritating contestant every season, but oh well.

Isn't that every reality show though? It doesn't really annoy me as much on Face Off as on some of the other shows, where they tend to cast several really annoying, high drama people.

Because books.

Oh, Top Chef. Ugh. But I almost think Kristin wanted it that way -- I think her expectations of herself pulling everything off perfectly were unrealistic. She was certainly adamant about taking responsibility.

I'm surprised Stefan didn't die of heartbreak at the end.

I expected him to annoy, but I actually liked him once they were working, especially when he was up front about saying his partner had been right to start with the dark base coat. Their goblin was pretty cool.

I really like the mentoring this season, that added a lot to my understanding of all the factors that go into makeup design.

Thrive to spite them

He wasn't as bad as the guy who left last year, "no one understands my genius!" (which was really just a hot mess).

Yeah, half-shaved-head dude had me worried with the foundation challenge and his "outside the box thinking" comment, but he doesn't compare to that guy.

I haven't gotten all the way through PR yet to know who won, but I just had to pop in and say Isaac Mizrahi's polka-dot suit! Love!

So awesome.

And I am pleased with the winner. I liked all three collections this time, which is always nice for me.

I had decided to bail on the upcoming "team" season, but I just went ahead and put the first episode on the DVR to record. I'll watch it if I have time. I miss Tim Gunn. But this team idea sounds problematic.
