"One-way monkey" was priceless.
They gave Elena the total bitch edit, but I think it was earned. She seemed like a nightmare in that episode.
I thought Team 5's designs were nice but really sort of '80s. And I didn't like that everything was that made of one kind of fabric. For work especially, I feel like that's the kind of stuff that's going to get snags or pulls really easily, as well as being a bitch to clean.
Elena is exactly the kind of crazy bitch I love on my reality TV. I love her and her weird big shoulder jackets.
Raul's shirt with the ruffles...W.T.F. Sucks going home twice, but he earned it.
Oh, I actually didn't like the collar on the winning dress. It just looks like the kind of thing that would bug the hell out of me if I was wearing it.
Eta: ITA Jess. Raul made two tank tops and they were both terrible. Come on.
It was fab having people over for SYTYCD even if it was one of my least favorite episodes ever. The evening was worth it for the commentary of (non-fans) Scola and Juliana alone.
It's a travesty that "The Bed" and "The Door" were even included. And don't even get me started on the "Dead Daddy Dance." I would have loved to see Kameron and Lacey's dance from Season 3 included over any of those. Or "Two Princes" or Jeanine and Kayla's final number from their season.
Here's a split screen of all seven numbers: [link]
thanks for that link, megan!
Very interesting side by side comparisons. For some reason, I thought the dances were shorter the second time. I guess it's because I knew what was coming.
the dancers this season are very good, but the chemistry between couples is seriously lacking in comparison to Katie and Joshua who are my all time favorite pairing.
I love Cole, but I hope he gets a partner he connects with better. I really didn't care for Kupono that much but his focus on his partner in the Addiction dance was so much better for the experience.
It's still really hard as a Community fan to take the Addiction Gravity dance quite as seriously as it probably deserves.
Anybody else still watching BB? I was watching Big Brother After Dark from Thursday night (which I think I'll do again, just Thursday after the HoH), and it was so fascinating! They had a whole conversation about how Friday-Monday is so boring and they wish they'd have a luxury comp, but probably not, since Sunday's episode would have to include the end of the HoH, so there wouldn't be time. I was fascinated with how savvy they are about production (even though every time they went down that road, the producers tried to cut them off -- at another point they were talking about the audition process, and that was also a no-no, apparently). They also spent a LOT of time talking about past seasons and what had happened with specific competitions. Those people are really serious about Big Brother. Which is good, I guess?
I just heard Survivor casting news that made me squeal:
Lisa Welchel from the Facts of Life is going to be on
! As well as
a former player for the Mets, and three former contestants who all had to be medivacced out.
I might watch this season.
Amy,
She is kind of a crazy religious fanatic now (IIRC) so I hope that part of her is not emphasized. I don't want to hate her.
