( continues...) song. She’s just slightly off on every “my”, on every big note, on every “me”. That was severely underwhelming. I don’t get her at all.

Pip – Somewhere Only We Know. Annoying song. Annoying kid. So that should work. He sounds really good. And the piano thing is working really well for him. And he’s not wearing the frikkin’ bow tie. Oh, he should’ve stayed sitting at the piano in that quiet pocket. I was almost liking him until he stood up. And now he’s missing so many notes in these runs. Where did Adam’s advice about being simple and clean with his vocal go? That last part from the high pitched, someone’s giving me a wedgie “So” right through to the very end was atrocious. Atrocious. Adam knows it, too. Is there any way this kid’s not toast in the instant elimination?

Adam and the Adamites. Ummm. They sound pretty good on their opening harmonies. And I don’t think I ever knew the name of this song was Instant Karma, so there you go. It was just that song from the Nike commercial. Learned something new today. Thank you, Adam.

Juliet – Crying. Aw, I love this song. I know it’s just at the beginning of the slide into Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing Aerosmith, but damn, I think this song is just good, good stuff. It was weird at the beginning but she let it go by the end. She’s got a great rock and roll voice. She looked like she was choking on all the damn feathers at the end there.

Boot-ees

Is Cee-Lo reading off his telephone? What. The. Fuck? Obviously, it’s James. Can’t argue with that.

And Pip does go. I can always count on Adam.

I'm good with who left. I could kinda lose everyone left on Adam's team and not feel bad about that at all.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Cee-Lo is useless as a judge

I kind of disagree with this, Erin aside. It seemed obvious last night that he had honestly bonded with James as well with Jamar, and Juliet has managed to surprise me in ways that I think Cee-lo had a hand in.

I thought it was funny how Adam reacting to the guy flying behind Mathai. How did he not know that was happening?

I figure Mathai is going home tonight, and probably Cheesa.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good call, Adam. I just wish they would let Katrina go back to her 50s housewife style, and stop making her look like Adele -- it's so much cooler and more interesting!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

very happy with the cuts tonight. unlike Kat P, I like Adam's team and I like Jamar. I like Christina's team the least.

I was happy with who went home tonight. Cheesa was just not quite the diva either she or Cee-Lo seemed to think that she was. Perfectly OK, but nothing to write home about. And James wasn't ready for this competition and Just the Way You Are was a terrible song choice for him. (One of the reasons I think Cee-Lo's not all that hot as a coach/judge on the show is that he makes kinda janky song choices. Walk Like an Egyptian? Really? I don't know. I'm sure his contestants enjoy him, but I never find he brings all that much to the table on the live shows)

Adam's team just doesn't do that much for me. Most of the time I forget who is on it. Katrina is perfectly pleasant, but she just kinda lacks oomph for me. And Tony . . . well, I gotta go with X-Tina. Despite the fact that I think her hatred is more personal than anything else, I do agree that he just seems kinda one dimensional.

So now it's Katrina and Tony on Adam's team and Juliet and Jamar left on Cee-Lo's team, yes? Seems like Cee-Lo is way ahead in this game. Those two are amongst the two best singers left in the competition. I really wish I could like Jamar more. I was trying to figure out why I didn't. At first, I thought it was the sob story and the up with people overkill of it all. And then I remembered that it all started on Idol when he showed up as the pierce-faced friend who didn't make the show, but his friend did and then I started trying to remember who the friend was. Who was the friend? Who? Who? And then it came to me. He was friends with Frikkin' Gokey. Danny Gokey! Ugh. He's tainted forever by the heart handed shame of it all. I can't help it.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

yeah, was he HIV+ when he was Gokey's friend?

I don't remember them saying anything about that on Idol and you know had Jamar been HIV+ back then, the show would've made a BFD about it because they live for stuff like that.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Couple of minor Voice things. I am still harping on mic technique. Mathai did that thing AGAIN where she moves her head off axis with the mic, and loses the amplification. Mic goes with your face, sister, even if you think you're done. As a result most of her closing consonants get lost, adding to her enunciation woes. And she had some breath control issues.

Katrina had problems with her in ears, but skated. And she's way too static on stage.

I agree about the styling. She was much cuter as 50's day dress chic. And Juliet's styling was EVEN WORSE tonight, not just blonde but curly blonde, and her iconic bangs pinned out of her eyes.

Overall, I'm happy with the teams. Cee Lo's is the strongest as a whole, probably Adam's is the weakest.

Cee Lo's is the strongest as a whole, probably Adam's is the weakest.

And, ultimately, this is why the elimination process doesn't work for me. Cee Lo put together the weakest team by far and yet it makes no difference in the end.
