"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Me too.

I thought for sure they would have second chance people. I guess the talent pool was kind of deep.

I thought it was interesting that Christina was so picky.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And 12 people on each team!

I couldn't believe they all turned around for that one "jazz singer" last night -- I'm sure she has potential, but she was so shaky in the room to me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh yeah, super shaky. Pitchy worse than some of the people they called down for pitchy. But whatevs.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I thought last night was the most inconsistent in terms of who and how many turned around.

I also don't have any feel for whether someone has a distinctly better or worse team. Of course, if the top singer from each team advances like last year I suppose it doesn't matter.

With 6 battles each, I assume we'll get one team per week for the battle rounds, no? I can only hope Blake will choose better songs this time around.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I've only seen about half an hour of The Voice, spread across two or three episodes, but a lot of people have sounded off-pitch to me, even the ones who are experienced or who got a lot of praise. I wonder if they have a hard time hearing themselves on stage.

Because books.

I think the jazz girl the other night did get noticeably more nervous once they started turning around, but I think she had potential.

Idol, on the other hand, is ... I don't know. The top twelve guys are on tonight, and I don't know if they're all nervous, but a lot of them sound pretty sad.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I don't think Dana is wrong. There has been a lot of off singing according to my house acoustics. This group as a whole does not sound as good as last season's.

I was surprised at how off the Broadway guy got -- I mean, if anyone can do it, shouldn't it have been him??

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just have to report how proud I have to have deleted my season pass (or whatever) for ANTM before accidentally getting sucked in!

Because books.

American Idol is just painful this year.
