I think they simply said "a gown for the opera," with as much of a couture feel as possible.
My problem is I hear "gown" and anything with a fullish skirt looks wrong. And when I hear "opera gown," I'm immediately in Gilded Age Manhattan or something.
Is 3 too much?
No, that was my point. They complained that the accessories were too much.
I do think several designers failed to take into account that a woman going to the opera has to be able to sit comfortably in her opera gown and ideally stand up again after the show without the back horribly wrinkled.
I still can't get over how much I liked Austin's gown, because I'm really not a gold lame person. But that was expensive and soft-looking, more like melted gold than the super shiny cheap stuff you usually see.
No, that was my point. They complained that the accessories were too much.
Ah, okay, then I fully support you!
I am currently favoring a Nyesha vs. Beverly finale.
That would be so awesome!
Mostly I want Nyesha back in because I want it to be someone that earned getting back in with multiple wins, and not just the last person who got kicked off. (Also, she really got the shaft when she got kicked off.)
The Last Chance Kitchen is a great idea for this show, because it seems like there is always some egregious elimination of someone you'd expect to see in the finals.
Finally watched Project Runway: very happy with the results. I really loved Austin's dress.
I can't remember the last time I watched a PR challenge where I was gasping with envy at *so many* of the dresses. Not that I personally could ever get away with wearing a single one of them, but so many of them were so damn exquisite. Even a hot mess like April's was at least an
interesting
hot mess, and it was also so clearly April's own personal hot mess and couldn't have come from any other designer.
So much pretty, coming from so much rampant competence and intelligence. LOVE.
Ball gown /= opera gown in my book.
Me, neither. I just think about sitting in the seats at an opera and a ball gown wouldn't fit in most theater seats.
