Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
The only bad part about watching online is the repetition of the Lifetime commercial for Lifetime Moms! I was ready to scream by the 10 showing!
I like Sweet Pea! I mean, the dress was a disaster, but as a person (and usually as a designer) she's pretty awesome.
I used to like her until one of the real women challenges when she spent several minutes complaining about how "huge" her model was. It's annoying enough when the men do it, but when a woman who is not exactly a size 2 herself does it, I find it particularly distasteful.
I was not happy with who went home. I thought that Sweet P's dress was terrible. Don't get me wrong, I didn't like Elisa's outfit, but at least it was made well and had, as Nina says, a point of view. Sweet P sewed a bunch of towels together. It was heavy and bulky and unattractive. She didn't even do anything with the towels, she just sewed them together.
ITA. It feels like the judges didn't so much look at who made the better look this week, but who would mentally survive the weeks ahead. I can understand them thinking "Ooh, do we really want to go through this with Elisa every week?" and letting her go, but this week she did NOT have the worst look.
Food Network has a new show called "The Big Waste" which is supposed to highlight the amount of food that gets wasted regularly. (It's on at 10 pm and 1 am Eastern.)
Tabatha Takes Over premieres tonight, and although it's another salon tonight, this season she's apparently taking over all kinds of places, which should be cool.
And Face Off, the special-effects makeup competition show is back tomorrow. I swear, I will watch any competition.
What channel is that? Because I've never seen it, and it does look like something I would happily watch, especially since I seem to be over Top Chef.
It's on SyFy.
